  1. Evans lifts scoring ratepublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Durham 291-8 dec & forfeit v Leics forfeit & 142-2

Sam Evans is stepping on the gas after reaching his fifty and hits three fours in one over from Matt Salisbury.

A cover drive and square cut come either side of a top-edged pull to fine leg and he is on to 64 not out.

Colin Ackermann has 30 and that is tea. They need another 150 in the final session to win.

WICKET - AND TEApublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Bull b van Buuren 7 (Glamorgan 116 & 139-8 v Glos 181)

All of a sudden, Gloucestershire will be looking at the Central Group table with renewed interest.

One spinner beats another as Gloucestershire are immediately rewarded for bringing Graeme van Buuren back into the attack, the left-armer clean bowling Kieran Bull.

With Glamorgan's lead just 74 at tea, Gloucestershire need two quick wickets to give themselves a fairly simple run chase - as the two sides above them in the table, Somerset and Worcestershire, pray for the rain to halt.

Hampshire call up leg-spinner Mason Crane and his second delivery turns in out of the foot marks and Scott Borthwick is gone.

Jason Roy is 12 not out at the other end, but Hampshire are really sensing victory now.

  4. Bleak in Brumpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Warks 121 & 140-8 v Somerset 413-9 declared

This will not be making Somerset's early tea taste nice at all.

  5. 50 runs

for Sam Evanspublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Durham 291-8 dec & forfeit v Leics forfeit & 128-2

    Sam EvansImage source, Rex Features

Sam Evans doesn't look comfortable dealing with a short ball from Brydon Carse, but he manages to turn it away for a single from high up on the bat and reach a 134-ball half-century.

It's the first time he has passed 50 against county opposition, though he did score 114 against Loughborough MCCU.

    Leicestershire's target is 292.

  6. Postpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Middlesex 269 & 156-1 v Kent 191

Middlesex's monster opening partnership at Canterbury has finally been broken as Max Holden holed out to Joe Denly for 72 but fellow opener Sam Robson is still going strong on 78no.

Middlesex's lead is 234 now but time is against them.

  7. Postpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Durham 291-8 dec & forfeit v Leics forfeit & 126-2

Sam Evans and Colin Ackermann have completed a fifty partnership for Leicestershire at Grace Road.

Evans is now 49 not out after flicking away a leg-side full toss from Matt Salisbury for four.

  8. rain stops play

Rain stops play - early teapublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Northants 212 & 114-6 v Worcs 219 & 255-6

    Plot twist at Northants!

It's not only Somerset with weather woes, rain regrets and cloud concern, now Worcestershire have been hauled off too!

They need just four wickets to wrap up what would be a crucial win at Wantage Road - they will hope the rain starts to ease off while an early tea is taken.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Jacks lbw Holland 0 (Surrey 172 & 15-3 v Hampshire 298)

Are Surrey going to be 0-3 at the end of this game? It's looking like it at the moment.

Will Jacks is the latest to go, beaten by a nip-backer from Ian Holland, which struck him in front.

Another 111 needed to avid an innings defeat.

  10. Postpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Yorkshire 400-6 dec v Derbyshire 219-6

Matt Critchley and Anuj Dal are still together for Derbyshire following the belated start at Headingley.

Having saved the follow-on in the opening over, they are now heading toward a 50 partnership. Critchley has 44 and Dal is on 23.

Annie Chave: I’m really enjoying both the excellent radio coverage/live stream plus the #bbccricket, external text on the webpage of the #bobwillistrophy, external - so love the sense of community that county cricket gives us.

Thanks for your kind words, Annie - and stick with us because there's sure to be more drama ahead in these final sessions of this round of games.

  12. Early tea in Birminghampublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Warks 121 & 140-8 v Somerset 413-9

Not sure Somerset stomachs will fancy any food to be honest. They will be churning a bit. This would surely have been over hours ago if not for the constant rain interruptions.

    Zaib c Cox b Pennington 5 (Northants 212 & 94-6 v Worcs 219 & 255-6 dec)

    Saif Zaib.Image source, Getty Images

Worcestershire are four wickets away from victory at Wantage Road - and potentially four wickets away from top spot in the Central Group if Somerset's weather woes are not resolved at Edgbaston.

Saif Zaib nicks Dillon Pennington to Pears wicketkeeper Ben Cox and it's going to need some effort from the Northants lower order to get out of this mess.

  14. Postpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Nottinghamshire 472 v Lancashire 173 & 60-0

As we predicted, Notts have now turned to their spinners with Samit Patel and Matt Carter both in action. Just six runs from the combined three overs so far, but for Lancashire, it's just about not losing wickets.

  15. Back off at Edgbastonpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Warks 121 & 140-8 v Somerset 413-9 dec

Would you believe it? Another rain delay in Birmingham - I think that's the fourth now but I may have lost count.

It's really starting to come down again as well. If Somerset don't win this, their tears might flow as heavily as this shower.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Browne lbw Garton 19 (Sussex 194 & 141 v Essex 140 & 49-2)

    George GartonImage source, PA Media

What a match George Garton is having.

Two wickets in successive overs for him and Essex have lost both openers, chasing 196 for victory.

Nick Browne falls to full delivery which hits him low on the pad as he tried to flick it to leg. Dan Lawrence is the new batsman.

  17. Back on at Grace Roadpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Durham 291-8 dec & forfeit v Leics forfeit & 105-2

Thankfully they are already back out there in Leicester.

The home side now have 42 overs left to try and score another 187 runs.

  18. Postpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Surrey 172 & 10-2 v Hampshire 298

All of a sudden it's become very interesting at Arundel, with both Surrey openers now dismissed.

Mark Stneman follows Ryan Patel back to the dressing room with only three to his name after edging Brad Wheal to Tom Alsop at first slip.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Thomson c Davies b J Overton 26 (Warks 121 & 138-8 v Somerset 413-9 dec)

What was all the worry eh, Somerset supporters?

Third ball after the resumption and, no surprise after his day with the bat yesterday, it's Jamie Overton with the wicket.

That's two wickets in four balls either side of the lengthy enforced rain break for Somerset as Alex Thomson's brave 26 ends with a nick behind to Steve Davies.

Two wickets needed for victory - or maybe one if injured batsman Matt Lamb cannot drag his damaged toe to the crease.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 18 August 2020

    Cook c Salt b Garton 26 (Sussex 194 & 141 v Essex 140 & 44-1)

    Twice in one match!

George Garton offers one up to Alastair Cook to drive, but it takes the edge and Phil Salt picks up a good, low slip catch.

Garton was chuffed enough after having "big fish" Cook lbw in the first innings - wonder how he's feeling now?

    The Essex target is 196.
