  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Bell c Barnard b Leach 1 (Worcs v Warwickshire 179-3)

Poor from Ian Bell who leans out to drive Joe Leach and chips a catch to point.

He takes a disgusted look at the pitch but only himself to blame there.

19-year-old Dan Mousley to the crease playing just his second first-class match.

A much needed innings for Somerset who were struggling at 89 for 5.

But 109 balls and nine fours brings George Bartlett a first fifty of the season in his second match and his seventh fifty-plus score in 27 first-class matches.

He gets there with the latest of his back-foot punches.

    Hain c Cox b Barnard 55 (Worcs v Warwickshire 178-2)

    Worcestershire have a badly-needed breakthrough.

But it's scarcely deserved as Ed Barnard sends a full ball down the leg side that Sam Hain flicks at and edges to Ben Cox.

A shame for Hain but at least a first significant score of the season.

  8. Glamorgan all outpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Northamptonshire v Glamorgan 259

The madness finally ends at Wantage Road with Callum Taylor last out for 106.

He's added 124 in 68 balls for the 10th wicket with Michael Hogan.

And Glamorgan now have a score to work with.

    What a turnaround.

  11. 100 runs

for Will Rhodespublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Worcs v Warwickshire 174-1

It didn't take long after tea and Will Rhodes has a sixth first-class century in 181 balls with 13 fours.

After four hundreds in 2018 he found life tougher last year making just one century but back to his best here.

The second-wicket stand with Sam Hain passes 150 too.

  12. 100 runs

for Callum Taylorpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Northamptonshire v Glamorgan 258-9

Absolutely extraordinary fightback by Glamorgan at Wantage Road - and led by Callum Taylor on first-class debut.

At 135 for 9 it looked like another failure but 22-year-old Taylor, from Newport has struck ten fours and six sixes to reach a debut century in 88 balls!

Michael Hogan has also got in on the fun with three maximums of his own - one out of the ground - and the pair have a record 10th wicket stand against Northamptonshire.

The hosts must be pulling their hair out as once again they are taken apart by some lower order hitting.

  19. Finely balanced at Tauntonpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Somerset 138-5 v Gloucs - tea

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Somerset

The Cidermen versus the Shire is still a finely balanced affair, with Somerset going into tea at 138-5.

George Bartlett has been leading the way for the home team, with a fluent 43*, surprisingly untested by the short ball, given that he has only just recovered from the concussion caused when he was hit on the helmet by Glamorgan’s Marchant de Lange. Craig Overton is offering muscular support.

Is the pitch flattening out? Maybe just a touch, but we wont really know until Somerset get to bowl on it.

  20. Bit of luck for Leespublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Durham 154-4 v Derbyshire - tea

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

Durham are 154-4 at tea on day one of their "away game" in Chester-le-Street against Derbyshire.

Because of restrictions at The County Ground, Derbyshire are playing all of their Bob Willis Trophy matches on the road. They put Durham in this morning and soon had them 32-3 before a fight-back led by opener Alex Lees with help from Gareth Harte.

They added 111 before Harte uncharacteristically chipped a ball from spinner Matt Critchley straight to Luis Reece at mid-on. He made 44.

Lees has had some luck. He was dropped on 69 at cover by Anuj Dal off Ben Aitchison and appeared to have been dropped by keeper Brooke Guest off Critchley when on 80. He will resume after tea on 83.
