    Yorkshire lose an early wicket.

Will Fraine miscues a pull shot off Dieter Klein and Ben Mike takes a very good catch running back over his shoulder from mid-on to cling on.

Not the start the hosts were looking for.

  2. Yorkshire back out on the parkpublished at 10:39 British Summer Time 8 September 2020

Yorkshire (38-2) trail Leicestershire (124) by 86 runs

After yesterday's frustrating washout, they are back out in the middle finally at Headingley between Yorkshire and Leicestershire.

The hosts still in with a slight sniff of topping the North Group and reaching the final, but they need quick runs and some batting bonus points to do so.

    Abell c Cox b Leach 7 (Worc 200 v Som 251 & 16-2)

    Instantaneous!

Somerset skipper Tom Abell is caught behind off the bowling of Joe Leach.

That's the man Worcestershire wanted. Abell was instrumental in building the visitors' first-innings score with 59 last time at the crease.

Should we keep this format?published at 10:29 British Summer Time 8 September 2020

Putting it out there. We both really like the Bob Willis Trophy format.

We say scrap the County Championship's two-division set-up, have three local groups and extend the play-offs to include semi-finals or even a last eight if you're feeling adventurous.

Side's save money on travel costs, fewer dead rubbers and nobody ever has to fear relegation.

Do you agree? Should the ECB make the switch? Or is it a terrible shout and we shouldn't be let anywhere near a BBC county cricket live again with such radical ideas?

  8. North Group strugglespublished at 10:25 British Summer Time 8 September 2020

Of the eight teams who began this week still in with a chance, Monday wasn't great for those in the North Group. Only two teams can still make it to Lord's, leaders Derbyshire and second-placed Yorkshire.

Derbyshire were 120-7 at stumps, 99 shy of Lancashire's first-innings total.

Yorkshire's game with Leicestershire was called off without a ball being bowled on day two.

They've now lost a little over 450 overs combined in their three home North Group games.

  10. Essex and Somerset firm favouritespublished at 10:21 British Summer Time 8 September 2020

Essex and Somerset are our tips for the final at this stage in the last Bob Willis Trophy round.

Somerset are less well advanced in the Central Group's meeting of the top two at Worcester. But after taking the last nine Pears wickets for just 77 to earn a 51-run first-innings lead.

While Essex look on the verge of beating Middlesex, who ended the day at Chelmsford just 25 runs ahead in their second innings with only four wickets left.

Could we see an intriguing meeting between last year's top two at Lord's?
