  1. Borthwick departs for Surreypublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Surrey (388 & 33-1) need 123 more runs to beat Sussex (415 & 128)

No repeat then of their mammoth first-wicket stand this time round for Scott Borthwick and Rory Burns.

Borthwick is the first man out in Surrey's chase of 156 as spinner Jack Carson has him caught by George Garton for 11.

Rory Burns joined by Hashim Amla now.

  2. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Worcestershire (200 & 90-3) need 155 more runs to beat Somerset (251 & 193)

Jack Haynes is in fine touch as he hits a beautiful drive through the covers to move onto 29 from 62.

And we've got a change of bowling too as Craig Overton is replaced by Josh Davey.

Frustrating for Overton, he bowled well but just couldn't find a breakthrough.

  3. Yorkshire shelling chancespublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Yorkshire (252) lead Leicestershire (124 & 121-7) by 7 runs

Yorkshire's fielding has all of a sudden got a bit sloppy.

Dieter Klein (23 not out) has benefited from a couple of drops - Tom Kohler-Cadmore in the slips off Ben Coad and then Coad himself down at long leg off Duanne Olivier the very next over.

Klein's big shots either side are moving Leicestershire closer to breaking even.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Godleman c Jones b Lamb 4 (Derbyshire 4-1 need 376 to win)

And now they have a wicket.

An excellent catch in the slips from Rob Jones and Danny Lamb dismisses Derbyshire skipper Billy Godleman.

If the visitors are going to pull this off, they're going to do it the hard way.

  5. Postpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Lancashire (219 & 356-6 dec) lead Derbyshire (195 & 4-0) by 376 runs

Just the one scoring shot so far for Derbyshire, as Billy Godleman hits Danny Lamb for four.

Lancashire bowlers Lamb and George Balderson aren't giving anything away.

  7. Burns and Borthwick begin Surrey chasepublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Surrey (388 & 3-0) need 153 more runs to beat Sussex (415 & 128)

Rory Burns and Scott Borthwick begin Surrey's chase of 156 at The Oval.

They put on 164 for the first wicket in the first innings as England opener Burns scored a century.

More of the same would be much welcomed by the hosts but spin has come into play since yesterday afternoon in a big way.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Fell lbw b Gregory 20 (Worcestershire 200 & 71-3 need 174 win)

Massive wicket for Somerset. Lewis Gregory takes his third of the innings as Tom Fell misreads an in-swinger.

Plumb as you like, Fell falls for 20 off 73 deliveries.

    It's advantage Somerset again.

  9. Derbyshire start the fourth inningspublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Lancashire (219 & 356-6 dec) lead Derbyshire (195 & 0-0) by 380 runs

    Here we go then.

Derbyshire require an incredible 4.7 an over to potentially reach Lord's.

Billy Godleman and Luis Reece are the two men in.

  10. Back under way at New Roadpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Worcestershire (200 & 71-2) need 174 more runs to beat Somerset (251 & 193)

And we're back in Worcester having only lost four overs.

Lewis Gregory completes his over and Jack Haynes tickles a loosener down to third man.

    Worcestershire edging closer.

Chris Payne: A draw is sufficient for Somerset if Derbyshire don't win. Granted I wouldn't wager too much on them winning but us Somerset fans are used to being denied in the final moments of a 4 day season!

  12. Leicestershire seven downpublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Yorkshire (252) lead Leicestershire (124 & 98-7) by 30 runs

    Leicestershire's struggles continue.

The battle of the Bens ends with Ben Coad trapping Ben Mike leg before for just a single.

That's three in this innings now for Coad to go with his first-innings five-fer.

Leicestershire still 30 runs shy of drawing level.

  13. Declaration & 50 for Danny Lambpublished at 11:02 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Lancashire (219 & 356-6 dec) lead Derbyshire (195) by 380 runs

    Fifty and a declaration.

Danny Lamb makes his maiden first-class fifty off just 49 balls and Dane Vilas immediately calls his batsmen in.

Derbyshire will require 381 runs to win. It would be some story if they did it.

  14. Sussex all out for 128published at 10:57 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Surrey (388 & 0-0) need 156 to beat Sussex (415 & 128)

Spin takes all 10 wickets in Sussex's second innings at The Oval as Amar Virdi bags his fourth of the dig to dismiss Sussex for just 128.

Former Surrey man Stuart Meaker is last to depart for 42, caught by Jamie Overton and that means Surrey will need 156 to claim a consolation victory in their campaign.

Virdi takes 4-40 while Dan Moriarty finishes with first-class career-best figures of 6-70.

  15. Postpublished at 10:56 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Lancashire 219 & 344-6 v Derbys 195

Derbyshire fans, I'm sorry I don't think it's going to happen.

Lancashire are batting for a declaration here, and I just can't see the visitors chasing say 400 in 75 overs.

Remember, Billy Godleman's side need to win to have any hope of reaching the Lord's final.

    Worcestershire (200 & 67-2) need 178 more runs to beat Somerset (251 & 193)

    And we're off.

This suits Somerset nicely. If my calculations are correct, they'll go through with a draw.

  17. Postpublished at 10:50 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

We're checking for bad light at New Road.

    It's very dark.

  18. Yorkshire bag another Leicestershire scalppublished at 10:50 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Yorkshire (252) lead Leicestershire (124 & 84-6) by 44 runs

Yorkshire look well set to wrap up victory early on this final day against Leicestershire.

Ben Coad has another wicket early in the morning session to reduce the Foxes to 84-6 in their second innings. Arron Lilley caught by Will Fraine at third slip.

That's seven in the match so far for the tall right-armer.

  19. Not outpublished at 10:48 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Worcestershire (200 & 67-2) need 178 more runs to beat Somerset (251 & 193)

Huge shout as Craig Overton is convinced he's got Tom Fell.

The ball swings back in and hits Fell's back leg. Too high I think.

    There's movement out there.

Seems our BBC Radio Lancashire and BBC Radio Manchester colleague Scott Read was taking it easy before the start of play this morning.

Here's Scott hitching a ride on the groundsman's roller at Aigburth in the Merseyside sunshine.

Lancashire meanwhile continue to build a handsome lead to all but dash Derbyshire's final hopes.
