End of the powerplay - honours even?

  4. dropped catch

Hendricks dropped on 2published at 5.5 overs

    Should Jos Buttler catch that?

Tom Curran draws a thick edge from Reeza Hendricks, and it goes pretty quickly to Buttler, who is on the half dive, and he can only fingertip it to the boundary.

Third time this series Jordan has got De Kock, he's definitely winning the battle with the South Africa captain.

  6. Postpublished at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2020

Tom Curran is into the attack - he conceded 55 on this ground on Friday so will be hoping for a better day out.

I'm very excited to now see what random nonsense Stuart in Devon has for us!

  8. SA 36-1published at 5 overs

    Absolute carnage in the middle!

Temba Bavuma is almost run out by Ben Stokes, before Reeza Hendricks nearly drags on and a throw to the non-striker's end from Jos Buttler just misses the stumps.

Chris Jordan has got 66 Twenty20 wickets for England now.

The pitch is worn - it was used for the first match of the series. Conditions might be a bit like this in the India for the T20 World Cup next year.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.4 overs

    De Kock c T Curran b Jordan 17 (SA 34-1)

    Big wicket!

Chris Jordan had just bamboozled Quinton de Kock with a slower ball, but this is a normal-paced delivery and the South Africa captain just mistimes it, and it hits high up the bat, and just loops to Tom Curran at mid-off.

That makes Jordan England's outright leading wicket-taker in T20 cricket - overtaking Stuart Broad.

Chris Jordan is into the attack, replacing Sam Curran.

Random nonsense is actively encouraged, Stuart.

There's nothing we love more than chatting nonsense.

Can we "Get Involved" with random nonsense, or does it have to be about the cricket?

  14. SA 32-0published at 4 overs

    A single ends the over.

In a pre-match interview Jofra Archer said Quinton de Kock was the batsman he most feared bowling too in the powerplay.

    Easy to see why.

  15. 6 runs

    SA 31-0published at 3.5 overs

Quinton de Kock stands still this time, and he just picks up the length and flicks in to the building site.

    What a pick up.

  16. SA 25-0published at 3.4 overs

Really clever from Quinton de Kock.

Jofra Archer is giving the left-hander no width at all, so he shuffles outside off-stump, gets inside the line of the ball, and whips it down to fine leg for his first boundary.

  17. SA 20-0published at 3 overs

Decent comeback from Sam Curran with just three singles coming off the second half of the over, but it's still a good over for the hosts with 14 runs coming off it.

That will likely be the last we see of Sam Curran for a while.

  18. 6 runs

    SA 17-0published at 2.3 overs

And again but six this time!

It's a tad fuller, but Temba Bavuma just swivels and whacks it about 15 rows back.

    Glorious stroke.

  19. SA 11-0published at 2.2 overs

First boundary of the day as Sam Curran drops too short and Temba Bavuma pulls him to the fence.

    Easy as you like.

  20. SA 6-0published at 2 overs

Great start from Jofra Archer with just two singles conceded off the final two deliveries. He draws a false stroke from Quinton de Kock, but the inside edge cannons into the left-handers pad and allows the Proteas' captain to run through for a single.

England made a strong start like this on Friday, before Tom Curran conceded 24. Can England avoid that today?
