    Cheers, Callum.

That unfortunate incident of a bird doing its business on Babar Azam earlier doesn't seem to have brought Pakistan any luck.

Faheem Ashraf with the ball, can he break up this fine England partnership?

With England past half way in their chase, I'm going to hand you back over to Kal Sajad to take you through the remainder of the game.

  3. Eng 76-1published at 12 overs

    Target 142

Four more for Zak Crawley. It is more beautiful timing, as he whips through mid-wicket.

Wow! Another boundary, with an absolutely gorgeous square drive.

This is the best I've seen him look for a long time.

Faheem Ashraf has his thumb and index finger taped together on his left hand, almost creating like a baseball mitt.

Umpire Alex Wharf has sent him off to do something different.

Do you think if this squad all had to isolate, would Alex Hales get selected then?

  6. Eng 67-1published at 11 overs

    Target 142

Zak Crawley is a serious timer of a cricket ball.

He picks up another boundary, with a lovely on drive, admittedly through the air.

    Pakistan need wickets and quickly.

  7. Postpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 8 July 2021

Another change for Pakistan, after Haris Rauf bowled the last over. The medium pace of Faheem Ashraf is on now.

England have used 35 players this summer in the all formats. It's the most players that they have ever used in a summer.

It is the first time England have made 11 changes in ODI cricket but they kind of did in Tests in 1930 when they switched all 11 players from a Test in New Zealand to a Test in West Indies.

But that's because the game against West Indies started a day after the other, so England fielded two completely different teams.

    Target 142

The end of the powerplay, and that's England's again. Pakistan were 46-4 in comparison.

England only need 81 now, and the required run rate is 2.02.

  10. Eng 59-1published at 9.1 overs

    Target 142

Fortune! A big leading edge from Zak Crawley loops over the cover fielder and runs away for three.

    A bit of luck.

Crawley created that boundary by changing his guard. He moved over to the off stump and helped it along the way.

  12. Eng 56-1published at 9 overs

    Target 142

Zak Crawley has had a torrid few months in Test cricket, and he'll want to do well in this three-match series, to give him confidence ahead of the five-Test series against India that starts in about four weeks.

He picks up his second boundary, by coming down the pitch and flicking through square. That's a good sign. His feet were stuck against New Zealand. It's good to see him moving them.

This is a real chance for Crawley and Malan. There's not a huge amount of seam or swing in the air, it's a real chance for them to hit a meaty score.

Malan didn't look in complete control, it looked like he took his eyes off the ball but the connection was good enough.

  15. Eng 49-1published at 8 overs

    Target 142

Dawid Malan is racing, by his usual standards here. He picks up his fifth boundary with a pull shot. He wasn't in complete control, but he kept the ball down, and that's the main thing.

Chris Silverwood, who cut short a holiday in Norfolk to take charge of the team in their series after the positive Covid cases, looks happy.

Malan's looking so good. It's all timing, pure class and making it look easy.

  17. Eng 43-1published at 7.1 overs

    Target 142

    Dawid, stop it!

He caresses another drive between the cover and mid-off fielders to pick up four more.

That might be the best of the lot.

Here's how Phil Salt was out for the first time in international cricket.

  19. Eng 39-1published at 7 overs

    Target 142

England's running has been spot on so far. They've picked up at least three or four really quick singles.

That's the difference between the really, really good sides and the good sides.

I love the delicacy of Malan's hands.
