  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 41 overs

Rauf c Simpson b Gregory 1 (Pak 195 all out)

Caught down the leg side! Haris Rauf tries to pull, and gloves down the leg side, and John Simpson takes another really good catch.

England win by 52 runs! They now have an unassailable 2-0 series lead.

They have some serious squad depth.

Must be a really good feeling for this makeshift team to come in and do so well! Don't look out of place at all. Saqib is another pleasure to watch bowl!

We sensed something would happen there, the rate was climbing.

He was slightly cramped for room and was trying to heave it with a slog-sweep.

It was the right option for Shakeel, you can't criticise him for trying to take it to the leg-spinner.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 40 overs

    Shakeel c Overton b Parkinson 56 (Pak 192-9)

    Is this the game?

Ben Stokes had moved a fielder from the leg side, to cover the reverse sweep, almost tempting Saud Shakeel into the conventional sweep.

Shakeel can't help himself. He clothes the first attempt, and gets a couple. He connects cleanly the second time, but it is straight down the throat of Craig Overton on the mid-wicket boundary.

Overton turns and double fist pumps for the crowd.

  7. Pak 187-8published at 39 overs

    Need 61 from 48 balls

Hit em! Shaheen Afridi tries to steal a quick single, but there's a bit of hesitation, and a direct hit from Saqib Mahmood might have him in trouble.

A little bit of movement beats Saud Shakeel to end the over.

The ball is still doing a little bit.

    Anyone nervous yet?

Shakeel has been assured, calm and anchored his innings. He just needed someone to support him.

Streaky, but a maiden ODI half-century for Saud Shakeel.

The ball gets a little big on him, but an edge goes down to third for four.

What does he do from here? Does he attack now?

This is the first partnership of Pakistan's innings which has lasted six overs.

  11. Pak 179-8published at 38 overs

    Need 69 from 54 balls

Two singles start the over, before four dots.

That pushes the required run rate up to 7.66.

This is the contrast between a positive England team and why they're top of the ODI rankings and then a team like Pakistan who are struggling; England would be going for it, regardless of the total.

  13. Pak 177-8published at 37 overs

    Need 71 from 60 balls

    Decent over for Pakistan.

Craig Overton can't quite get out of the over. He'd only decided two from it, until Saud Shakeel finds the gap in the covers from the final ball.

It does leave Shaheen Afridi on strike, though. Pakistan need 71 from the final 10 overs.

Chris Ward: So pleased for John Simpson that he’s giving a great account of himself. Probably this is a one time deal for him but terrific that he’s making an impact. That catch will be rightly talked about long after Jos, Jonny et al are back in the shirt.

  15. Pak 171-8published at 36 overs

    Five from the over.

Pakistan need 77 off 66 balls.

England will want this wrapped up.

I imagine Parkinson is much happier now that Hassan Ali is back in the pavilion.

Matt Parkinson got hit out of the attack by Hassan Ali earlier.

But he's back on. Can he mop up the tail? He's so good at doing it for Lancashire.

A beautiful shot, one which a top-order batter would be proud of.

  19. Pak 166-8published at 35 overs

    Need 82 from 72 balls

You can tell Shaheen Afridi has been working on his batting.

He stands tall, and plays an absolutely gorgeous cover drive to the boundary.

    Beautiful.
