They should have had a second, though.

They should have had a second, though.
Ben Stokes opted against a review against Imam-ul-Haq, but replays showed it was hitting the top of middle stump.
Here's the only wicket to fall so far: That of Fakhar Zaman, off Saqib Mahmood.
Imam-ul-Haq keeps the strike with a pull to deep square leg.
It's time for a drink. Maybe Pakistan's will come with a note about playing the odd shot. We can hope.

That was a brave run from Babar Azam, he would have been gone.
Hit em!
Babar Azam just nudges into the on side and Brydon Carse gathers in his follow through, and turns and throws towards the non-striker's end, and with a direct hit Babar would have been gone.
It wasn't far away.

Babar is a beautiful player to watch. As an England fan you want to see him get out but as a cricket fan you want to see him stay out in the middle.
I don't know if I've ever seen Babar Azam struggle like this.
He's normally so elegant, but he's being so watchful in defence, biding his team. He knows he needs to bat long for his team today.
He's taken 36 balls to get to 14.
Beauty!
Craig Overton beats the outside edge of Babar Azam with a lovely ball, that just slightly moves away from the right hander.

This is more like a Bell-Cook-Trott start for Pakistan than a Roy-Bairstow start. It's old school.
Three more from the over.
I'm too young to remember cricket in the 90s, but people are telling me this is what it felt like.
Even the usually raucous Edgbaston are quiet.

They key thing here is to keep wickets in hand and set up a platform for the big-hitters to come in later.
Again, just three runs off the over. England will be content with this.
It's pretty overcast at Edgbaston. There is a small chance of a shower later.

Those 49 dot balls in the Powerplay are the most England have bowled in their last 75 one-day-internationals.
And it's the most Pakistan have faced in their last 50 games.
Three singles from Brydon Carse's second over.
This is better from Pakistan. It's patient, and there's probably too many dot balls, but they are giving themselves a platform, and a chance. Their running is a lot more positive too.

Fancy dress is as popular as ever in the Hollies Stand. I’ve already spotted Batman, a man in a Sombrero and accompanying Donald Trump, a load of blue Bob Willis wigs, Where’s Wally and the minions.
Don't bowl short to Babar Azam.
Craig Overton goes back of a length twice and he's sent to the boundary, and then through mid-wicket for a couple.
Babar is up to 10. You sense he's having to properly battle, though.

You need a little bit of luck in this game and Imam was lucky England didn't review in the first over.
Disappointing end to the over for Brydon Carse.
After five dot balls, he goes short, and Imam-ul-Haq swivel pulls to the square leg boundary.
He's played nicely, to move to 26.
Double change for England, as Brydon Carse replaces Saqib Mahmood.
Here's how England picked up their one powerplay wicket.
