  1. Pak 35-1published at 10 overs

Better from Craig Overton as the over progresses. Four dot balls end it.

That's the end of the powerplay. It's the first time this summer they haven't taken at least three wickets in an ODI powerplay, but they haven't let Pakistan get away either. They'll be content.

  2. Pak 35-1published at 9.2 overs

Ah. Craig Overton releases the pressure.

It's on Babar Azam's hip and he flicks it away through mid-wicket for four.

    Lovely shot.

Craig Overton is on to replace Lewis Gregory.

Former Pakistan all-rounder on Test Match Special

It's really important for Babar not to think about the dot balls. Just spend some time at the crease and take the opportunity when there is a bowling change. It's important for him and Pakistan that he stays there.

Pakistan do have a very solid team, they just haven't clicked all together yet in this series.

  8. Pak 30-1published at 9 overs

    Make that 14 balls.

A second successive maiden from Saqib Mahmood. He's just honed in on Babar's stumps and hasn't shifted.

  9. Pak 30-1published at 8.4 overs

England haven't given Babar Azam anything so far.

He's still yet to score, after facing 12 deliveries.

Eoin Morgan spoke about not wanting to give caps out for the sake of it during the series against Sri Lanka, when people were pushing for George Garton. I imagine it's similar thinking here.

Paul Rowe: Series win for England against Pakistan in the bag already. Surely an opportunity to give the rest of the squad a taste of International cricket?

  12. Pak 30-1published at 8 overs

Oh, loose! Imam-ul-Haq drives at Lewis Gregory, but his edge goes just past Zak Crawley at second slip, and away to the boundary.

It's been another decent start by England.

I would imagine that Saqib Mahmood has etched his name into the white ball squads and with injuries to Olly Stone and maybe Jofra Archer, he could even be on the plane to Australia.

  14. Pak 26-1published at 7 overs

Saqib Mahmood proper fancies this Babar Azam battle. Twice he throws down yorkers that Babar does well to dig out.

This is only his 13th game for England, but he really does look settled on this stage. Babar is the number one ranked batter in the world, don't forget. Mahmood isn't phased.

After just scoring one run in the first two ODIs combined, Imam-ul-Haq will have been to receive these in the first over.

It was a bit of a gift, it was set up and then well drilled.

  17. Pak 26-1published at 6 overs

Short and wide from Lewis Gregory and Imam-ul-Haq absolutely climbs into it to crunch away a cut shot. He's up to 17 - 16 of them have come in boundaries.

Saqib is a wicket-taking machine. Pakistan will want to get through their 50 overs today, bat patiently.

Today was the first time we've seen Saqib struggle for that consistency but when he does get it right it is so good.

  20. Pak 21-1published at 5 overs

Babar Azam is the new batter.

Saqib Mahmood has got him twice so far in this series - see below.

He survives his first two balls.
