This is another superb innings from KL Rahul.

  3. Ind 157-2published at 52 overs

We don't get the James Anderson v Virat Kohli battle that everyone wants to watch before tea, with KL Rahul blocking and leaving the first five balls.

Anderson goes a bit too full to finish, and Rahul pumps him to the cover boundary.

England have battled back hard in the last part of that session, but India are well and truly on top.

He had played only one first-class game in two years before this series.

A very well-paced innings - he started slowly and has moved gears. That is back-to-back half-centuries.

It is a very different innings from the one that Rohit Sharma played, but it brings about the same landmark.

It has taken 138 balls, but KL Rahul moves to his 18th 50-plus score in Test cricket with a steer through third for three.

This is the battle that was tantaslising at Trent Bridge. It didn't last long because Anderson got Kohli first ball.

India captain Virat Kohli is the new batter.

In four innings at Lord’s, Kohli has averaged 16.25 with a high score of 25.

He was out first ball to James Anderson in his only innings at Trent Bridge last week.

Because he played it with hard hands it carried to Jonny Bairstow. Jimmy Anderson, you are a legend. This is huge.

    The GOAT strikes again!

England had learnt their lesson from the previous edge, by closing the gap between second and a fourth slip, and Cheteshwar Pujara plays at a ball on fifth or sixth stump line and edges James Anderson to Jonny Bairstow at third slip.

Anderson wheels off in celebration. Arms out roaring in delight.

Pujara has been so good over his career - and when you have a career as long as his, you will have ups and downs.

  14. Ind 147-1published at 49 overs

In 2015 Cheteshwar Pujara averaged 49.57 in Test cricket, before 55.73 in 2016 and a mammoth 67.06 in 2017.

It dropped to 20.38 in four Tests in 2020, and it is 29.23 in eight Tests so far this year.

This career average is still a healthy 45 though. England would bite your hand off for a batsman who averages that.

It seems like the whole strike-rate debate has got Pujara going - he's pushing at the ball a bit.

  18. Ind 147-1published at 48 overs

Cheteshwar Pujara is driving again, and Dom Sibley does well at backward point to get a hand on it and keep it to a single.

There has been pressure on Pujara, and about whether he scores quickly enough.

Pujara doesn't look in any kind of rhythm. He's just hoping.

  20. Ind 146-1published at 47.1 overs

CATCH IT! Oh no, through the gap.

Cheteshwar Pujara prods at one, and it catches the outside edge, but the ball goes through where third slip would have been.

Jonny Bairstow is at second slip, with Rory Burns at fourth, and the ball splits them perfectly.
