It will be Mohammed Siraj from the other end after lunch.
He hit Joe Root on the pads a few times yesterday, but with the slope they were always going down the leg side.

What a session England had this morning.
It is the truth. England batted a whole session without losing a wicket.
I will be accepting no flak if England lose wickets in this session. Absolutely none.

Citizen: Now that Timothy is gone, tell us the truth, Callum. We are not fools to believe England batted through a session and didn't lose wickets.
Joe Root moves into the hopefully not-so-nervous 90s with a nudge off his hips. It has been an almost chanceless innings from the England skipper.
We're ready to go.
Ravindra Jadeja will start with the ball, with Joe Root on strike.
There are seven overs until the new ball.

He's dressed as a cricketer and he just took to the field...
We've got a slight delay at Lord's as we've got a pitch invader...
It is real Dominic. Drink it in.

My local club Brentford beat Arsenal 2-0 on the opening night of the Premier League and then England bat a serene opening session against India without losing a wicket. I must be dreaming...

James Anderson spoke about England batting the whole of today at close yesterday. They are a third of the way there.
He added that should allow them to be around India's score. Based on the runs scored in the first session England will likely be past India if they bat the whole day.
That would set up a lovely final two days.

Jonny Bairstow's half-century was his first in 20 Test innings.
Fair play to him. He must have wondered if another opportunity would come about in the longest form of the game but he is starting to take it.
He has shown a calmness so far. Long may that continue.

Everyone's optimism is distracting us from the fact that England are going to collapse to 300 all out after lunch.

Here are some highlights from the first session.
Joe Root will resume on 89, and closing in on a 22nd Test century. Jonny Bairstow is unbeaten on 51.
Thanks Timothy.
Where am I? What day is it? It feels like I'm in a parallel universe watching England bat through a session in such serene fashion.
They added 97 runs in that session, without losing a wicket. They are still 148 runs behind India so the job is by no means done, but Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow have given England a platform in this Test.
No England wickets have fallen during my text commentary stints during this Test. However, these beans on toast won't eat themselves so I'm popping off for lunch. Rest assured you're in equally safe hands, as Callum Matthews will take you through the afternoon session.
I think most of the India bowlers, with the exception of Jasprit Bumrah, were quite quiet during that morning session, Tim. It really is a good day for batting - possibly the best time in the whole Test given the pitch might start to deteriorate - and England need to make the most of it.

Ssshhhiraj was unusually quiet this morning.

Missed it earlier, but someone in the crowd at Lord's appears to have popped a champagne cork from the stands in the direction of KL Rahul on the outfield.
The India opener picked it up, inspected it, and didn't look best impressed.
