If I was an India batsman I would let James Anderson have that first spell. Don't play him at all. Then look to capitalise on anything wayward in his later spells.

James Anderson, after a nine-over spell, is off.

    Back comes Ollie Robinson.

Cheteshwar Pujara still hasn't got off the mark. He's faced 31 balls.

Moeen Ali does brilliantly with a sprawling drive at square leg to keep him waiting.

    The pressure is surely building.

Virat Kohli shouldn't be playing at that. It's a very wide delivery to be defending. England need to keep drawing him out to that line. Virat got a brilliant hundred at Edgbaston last time around when he left the ball well. He hasn't got into the same rhythm of play by playing a waiting game with James Anderson.

That is textbook. Virat Kohli picks up another boundary with a glorious drive. Dom Sibley tried to haul it back in and takes an almighty thud into the advertising boards. He is motionless for a second or two but then gets up and looks absolutely fine.

James Anderson responds by beating his outside edge as Kohli tentatively prods at one.

There was plenty of chat between Kohli and Anderson in that over. Kohli said "this isn't your backyard" at one stage I think. Both men want the final word at the end of the over and Joe Root wanders over and ushers Anderson away and gives him a huge pat on the back.

James Anderson is going to bowl a ninth straight over. He is 39...

It may be because Virat Kohli is on strike and he hasn't had a bowl at the India captain yet.

On a pitch like this I think having fielders in catching positions front of the bat is a good idea, especially when the ball isn't carrying through to the slips. If you mistime a drive, or it holds in the surface, it can give you a chance. It also might encourage someone like Cheteshwar Pujara to play some shots.

Sam Curran is starting to get bits of his natural brown peaking through his bleach blonde hair. The question is will he go again or will he resort to his natural hair?

He's got his trademark smeared suncream on his nose and lips too.

Joe Root has opted to give him some cover to start, with Dom Sibley on the point boundary for Virat Kohli. It saves England three runs as Kohli plays another lovely drive.

It's been a bit of barren series for Sam Curran so far. He's got no wickets having bowled 37 overs so far. One behind the current leader, Ravindra Jadeja, who has bowled one more over than him.

Mark Wood, who took 2-16 in his five overs, is going to be replaced by Sam Curran.

Three champagne corks have just been popped in the Edrich Stand, one to quite a large cheer. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of consideration to where the corks ultimately land. Can you imagine if you're watching the cricket, minding your own business, and get a champagne cork on the bonce? Can Lord's be liable for cork-related injuries?

Cheteshwar Pujara is still not off the mark. He's played out 19 dot balls so far.

That has got to James Anderson's lot, surely?

James Anderson is going to continue.

This will be his eighth over in this spell this morning.

Look at what it means to Mark Wood. Everyone loves playing for England, but with his injury record you can really sense how much each Test means to Wood.

Shot! Virat Kohli is off the mark with an absolutely gorgeous cover drive to the fence.
