Should Joe throw his boy a Ben Stokes themed party? What would that entail?

Sam Curran returns to the attack and gifts India two runs by overstepping the mark. The bowler comes back well by beating Jadeja's bat and then striking him in a place which TMS commentator Aatif Nawaz once described as "the unmentionables".

A fan wearing a Chennai Super Kings jersey (the IPL team Curran plays for) is waving an India fan. He's loving it.

Joe Hirst: I watched the Stokes innings at my son's 1st birthday party. Safe to say the missus wasn't impressed at most of our guests taking more interest in that than our child... I daren't tell her this one might go to a 4th day Saturday when his 3rd party is...

England haven't offered India any freebies. There has been nothing to cash in on. It is all England at the moment.

  4. Ind 64-5published at 35 overs

We thought after the first hour it would get easier for the batting side. We were wrong.

Craig Overton has the ball really jumping off a length and causing problems.

Virat Kohli, track-suited up with hands behind the back, is pacing up and down the balcony. His team are not having a good time out there.

There's a chap in a Barcelona shirt who has gone at his day too hard, too early. How do I know this? He's just made an awful mess at the back of the Western Terrace.

Nette Fenner: Listened to *that* Stokes innings in Copenhagen at Tivoli Gardens. Sat on a bench with my husband with one earphone each whilst our 6-year-old went round and round on the carousel about 100 times. We let her think it was all a treat for her!

  8. Ind 61-5published at 34 overs

Ollie Robinson is bowling brilliantly. He's making it hard work for the India batsmen, consistently bowling outside the off stump and beating the bat.

After 16 deliveries, Jadeja is off the mark with a dab into the off side.

There have been just four runs, and the wicket of Rishabh Pant, in the 7.1 overs since lunch.

That is an outstanding effort from Jonny Bairstow. It has gone right in the gap - it wouldn't have carried to Joe Root. They are close and it was a great effort.

    Romance at its finest, David.

Close! It's a quality delivery from Overton, in the channel. Rohit edges to second slip and it falls agonisingly short of Jonny Bairstow who is diving to his left.

It's my wife and I's third wedding anniversary today. For our first anniversary we decided to take a romantic trip to the site of our first date, Salisbury cathedral. She very generously let me check the score while she was in the toilets, one of the few places I could find phone signal inside the cathedral. Unfortunately she then spent the next hour sitting outside the toilets while some fellow tourists and I got increasingly excited listening to TMS. Love her to bits.

I'd also rugby tackle your pal for another Stokes innings like that.

Robinson goes short, Rohit hooks nicely for a single. How England would love to take his wicket right now.

    Just one form the over.

On THAT day, I was at Reading Festival, struggling to get data, getting ball-by-ball updates from the family over text. When I saw that "YEEEEESSSS" get sent in, I rugby tackled my friend onto a pile of empty cans, cuts and scrapes all over us both. Wouldn't change a thing.

It hasn't been easy for batting. You just have to get through it and it will be easier for batting this afternoon and evening.

Now then! A bit of chin music from Craig Overton as he goes short against Jadeja, the batsman happy to crouch underneath.

We're a few hours into the day's play, England are well on top and Leeds crowd are really starting to find their voice.

In the last 49 times that India have the won and elected to bat, this is their worse score for five wickets down.

You've got to go back to 2008, against South Africa, when they were 53-5.

Rishabh Pant is some player. But it was a pretty poor show from his today. He was quite fortunate not to be dismissed just moments earlier...
