I've said this before - there is a method to the madness of Rishabh Pant.
An hour of Rishabh Pant here could be great fun, though. He charges down the pitch at Ollie Robinson for a huge swipe and completely misses.
The man just out, Ajinkya Rahane, was playing some nice shots before he succumbed to James Anderson's relentless consistency.

I think the players are now looking at a Sunday off.

I've got to admit, I really didn't expect this. When I was doing this last night and watching Kohli and Pujara bat and bat and bat, in absolutely no trouble, I turned up to work today fully expecting more of the same. Decent pitch, blue skies, India see off the new ball and bat all day.
Shows what I know - England have been completely and utterly dominant.

This is tremendous. Anderson has deserved it this morning. He wasn't quite at his best yesterday but you know he'll come back the next day and iron out his mistakes.
Rahane c Buttler b Anderson 10 (Ind 239-5)
Make that more trouble! Anderson joins the party!
Full, swinging delivery - an Anderson classic, if you like. He is delighted, it's been a beautiful spell of bowling from him and Robinson this morning and they've got their rewards for it.

The crowd are buzzing, both with Kohli's wicket and the fact that Rishabh Pant is at the crease.
He charges at Anderson first ball! It's a defensive shot but there's a sign of his intent - as if we expect anything less.

What a start to the day for England. Joe Root is absolutely delighted, as are the England crowd.

Virat is disappointed he played at it. He could have left it but it was a really good delivery from Ollie Robinson. Root went for the aeroplane celebration - not seen that before.
Kohli c Root b Robinson 55 (Ind 237-4)
No mistake this time! Robinson again and it's Kohli!
Pace and bounce from Robinson who has bowled so beautifully yet again this morning, and it's the big one. A good catch from Joe Root at first slip and he runs off with an aeroplane celebration, both arms outstretched.
This time Robinson beats Kohli with another nervous prod outside off stump.
But Kohli is not at all bothered by it, because he plays a perfect on drive next ball for four past a diving James Anderson.

Kohli has played with more patience outside the off stump. He's shown really nice balance in the innings so far.
Ind 233-3
Virat Kohli reaches his first half-century of the series with a beautifully timed clip off his legs for four through midwicket.
The India fans in the crowd are on their feet, as are his team mates on the balcony. A couple of nervy shots this morning, but otherwise a very accomplished, confident innings.
England have already taken one wicket, that of Cheteshwar Pujara.

This second new ball will continue what it's doing for the next hour or so. The seamers have to strike in the morning session.

Kohli spoils the fun by getting off strike with a single first ball.
No bother for Anderson, though, who keeps testing Rahane with his immaculate accuracy.
England have got to get another wicket or two with this new ball, haven't they?

This is some of the most compelling Test cricket you could ever see, the tension of it all typified by Kohli walking when he hadn't hit it. This ball won't be new for long. Anderson and Robinson can't keep going forever. If India get through without many more losses, they might set England a target. If not, they could be beaten by tea. Headingley knows it, too. Back-and-forth between the two sets of fans, barely anyone moving from their seat.
