It was a bit nervy after the toss - nobody really knew whether the decision to bowl first would pay off for England. But after the first half an hour things really turned round for them, and India are in a tricky position.
I like pushing Jadeja up the order, though, with the left- and right-hand combination, and moving Pant down a place is a good move for him too.
Jonny Bairstow looks to the sky as Jadeja survives another close shave at the end of the over.
That's the end of another brilliant session of Test cricket. England will be happy with their work.

How England would have loved that wicket just before lunch! No foot movement from Jadeja and just a bit of a poke.
Shaky moments for India right before lunch as Jadeja plays and misses at the penultimate ball. Not a great shot.

Three wickets this morning. Tough batting conditions. Probing bowling. A real battle. It's not enough for one chap, though. He's playing chess on his phone.
Craig Overton begins the final over before lunch.
There was a fair bit of luck involved but Jadeja survives the over.

Jadeja is looking quite vulnerable deciding which ones to leave and which ones to play.
After a off start Anderson is right on it now. Jadeja doesn't have a clue whether to play or leave here as one swings back.
And again! This time it comes back and hits the pad.
You don't want to leave many more like that.

That is the shot of a man whose feet are just starting to move nicely. Ominous for England?
Kohli 17, Jadeja 2
You are, Alex. Congratulations.
Kohli seems subdued today. Maybe he's really concentrating - really trying to battle for his team. He pushes calmly back past Overton for four and a late defensive stroke later in the over gives him another boundary.

In terms of news, I officially qualified as a solicitor today. Others are already out partying, but I'm celebrating this big moment by listening to TMS and reading the live text. Who's the real winner?
Alex
Kohli 7, Jadeja 2
A big inswinger from Anderson finds Jadeja's pad. There's an appeal but it's not a particularly confident one. Anderson grimaces before agreeing not to review.
Testing stuff.

There is some good chat going on out there! But at least Anderson is smiling! I like the energy between these two, it gives us plenty of drama.
Words are exchanged between Anderson and Kohli after the India skipper gets an unintentional single when trying to leave.
Anderson is smiling. I think it's friendlier than some of the exchanges we have seen in this series.

India need to bring in Jarvo! They need the batting help.

I wonder what Ajinkya Rahane thinks about getting pushed down the order below Jadeja. It's hardly a confidence boost. 15 minutes to go until the break.
