That's all from us today - thank you for joining!

But there's still cricket for you to follow tonight - England women are taking on New Zealand in the second T20 at Hove. England are 1-0 up after a comprehensive win at Chelmsford, can New Zealand fight back?

That game will be live at 18:30 BST here.

I can't imagine what it feels like to bowl to Rohit. He just plays a forward defence as if you have bowled 3mph and flicks it like he is saying "that is rubbish".

    That was a magnificent century.

Rohit makes batting look so easy it is just unfair. When he put his bat up after his hundred he was obviously extremely happy but there was some relief as well that the monkey was off his back - it being his first away hundred.

The 290 England have scored is what we might look back on at the end of the game. Moeen Ali's was an awful stroke. If they had have got a lead of 180 I don't think India would have had any chance.

Anderson and Robinson have seemed to have lost the oomph and that is understandable with the amount of overs they have bowled in the last few weeks.

India still have the wrong team - no Ashwin is wrong - but from that and the criticism at Headingley they have found that inner confidence.

    Lead by 171

And the umpires have just confirmed that play is done for the day.

India will come back tomorrow very, very pleased with their day's work. England's bowlers will need a good night's sleep, I'd imagine.

Daniel King: How can commentators moan about over rates cheating the spectators and advocate going off for bad light for tactical reasons when cricket is still perfectly possible?

And after that, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja negotiated a tricky passage of play and the players went off for bad light. Which always sparks some debate, doesn't it?

England were desperate for the new ball and they certainly made it count.

Cheteshwar Pujara added a half-century of his own and the pair looked set to bat for days on end. Enter Ollie Robinson ...

And then it was all about one man: Rohit Sharma. He was dropped twice by Rory Burns, this morning off a tough chance on 31 - but went on to make his first Test century outside of India, sealing it with a six and it was magnificent.

On days one and two we have been right to criticise some of the batting but we saw last night the foundation from Rahul and Rohit was key. Today they came out and played with great clarity, calmness and great tempo.

There was some debate over the first wicket - that of KL Rahul, who was absolutely adamant he hadn't hit the ball.

England didn't care. They were elated.

So let's recap on what's happened today.

To keep it short and simple, India did a lot of batting. A lot.

Dave: India probably have enough already but another 200 in tomorrow's sunshine would put the game to bed.

There has been some terrific cricket today. It has been enjoyable, even down to the strange way Rohit Sharma got out.

A reminder of the match situation: India lead by 171 runs with seven wickets still remaining. They're in a very commanding position with two whole days left and some weary-looking England bowlers.

It's been a tough day for the hosts, the game only really coming to life when Ollie Robinson took the new ball about an hour or so ago.
