    Lead by 151

Rory Burns pulls out an impressive diving effort to save a boundary at third man, but his knee touches the rope and it's given four.

Followed by a huge appeal from Robinson for an lbw on Kohli, he is desperately pleading with the umpire in a manner that Stuart Broad would be proud of - but Root doesn't allow it.

And to make things just a little bit more frustrating, Kohli gloriously drives the next ball to the cover boundary.

In these conditions you would think India will want a lead of 250 at least.

If England had three reviews left they might have gone for it.

Big appeal from England for a caught behind on Jadeja that's given not out - there's a discussion about the review but England only have one left.

Root and Anderson agree not to, and it looks like it clipped the pad.

Playing cricket with my son in a park close to The Oval and trying to interpret the crowd noises which are a minute or two ahead of the live text!

Jadeja, sporting his short-sleeved woolly jumper in the London gloom, solidly blocks out a maiden from Ollie Robinson.

I feel like there's going to be a fair bit of blocking to come from these two to get through this tricky spell from a buoyant England.

James Anthony: Surely there is no better theatre than a full house at a Test match when a couple of big wickets have gone to the new ball that is doing a bit? I’ve had to stop what I’m doing and turn the wireless up a bit.

It is grey and murky at The Oval, with the floodlights on, while I have the sun beaming through my window here in Cardiff.

Cricket is silly but this country can be quite silly too, can't it?

Kohli comfortably negotiates another Anderson over but England are keeping the pressure right on.

In case you missed it, we've just had a completely bonkers passage of play where England took the new ball and then took two wickets in the first over with it.

Here's the first - and it didn't quite happen as anyone would've predicted.

Adam Edwards: Kohli v Anderson. Get the feeling this is the game, right here.

Sahil Oberoi: This is Test cricket at its gladiatorial best, brilliant to watch!

Dave Brown: What a Test series this has been. Still the finest form of the game.

Kohli and Jadeja sprint three down to third man as Haseeb Hameed pulls off another of his specialist sliding stops down there.

England fans, you can all thank our social media journalist Ameer for those wickets. He has a habit of sending us a graphic - e.g. one to mark Pujara's hundred - and it very often results in said player getting out.

The Oval has come alive it really has.

  15. Ind 237-3published at 81.2 overs

The Oval crowd has come to life and now we have Anderson v Kohli to spur them on even more.

And he beats him all ends up with a beauty!! Kohli prods outside the off stump, some nip and bounce from Anderson and England's fielders leap in the air in delight.

A competitive stare-off between batter and bowler follows. From absolutely nothing, we now have absolutely everything.

    Pujara c Moeen b Robinson 61 (237-3)

There is an edge!!! Where has this come from?!

Robinson has not been at his best today, but wow he has made his mark. It's his height again that gets him some extra bounce to surprise Pujara, who inside edges onto his thigh pad and it balloons up for a simple catch at gully.
