    Crawley c Hasaranga b Embuldeniya 9 (Eng 17-2)

You know how Sri Lanka played some bad shots? Well, Zak Crawley wanted it on that...

It's poor, this. Crawley advances, looking to go down the ground, but he doesn't get underneath the ball and ends up hoicking it straight down the throat of Hasaranga at mid-off.

All it needs is one or two of these batters to get set and England can maximise making it into a big first innings. They're comfortable.

I would 100% watch a split screen of this game and Mickey Arthur's face up on the balcony. Or, alternatively, I'd like to play poker against him.

Jonny Bairstow gets off the mark with an ungainly sweep that sends the ball looping over the head of the wicketkeeper.

This is Bairstow's window. I don't know how long it's going to be open for. One thing that does stand for him is his game against spin. He's got to try and push his name back in the hat because there are a lot of batters trying to get in the side.

Lovely. Four for Crawley, taking a Asitha Fernando delivery from off his pads and clipping it through mid-wicket for his first boundary.

Fernando's follow-up delivery is a better length that helps the ball nip past the outside edge.

Is it just me or does Dimesh Chandimal look a LOT like Taylor Lautner.

That's the first thing that has gone right for Sri Lanka today.

It was a beautiful delivery - it straightened from around the wicket and took the edge. Sibley was completely off balance and was reaching forward. Sri Lanka need this - they need more of those sort of deliveries.

    Sibley c Thirimanne b Embuldeniya 4 (Eng 10-1)

    Yes he has!

That's a lovely ball from Lasith Embuldeniya, drifting in to Dom Sibley as he presses forward. The ball flicks the outside edge of the bat, then Sibley's back pocket, then the keepers gloves, before going low to first slip. Lahiru Thirimanne gets both hands underneath the ball and snatches it up inches from the turf.

It's a good, low catch from the slip fielder.

    Has Dom Sibley nicked it?

Turn, but has it taken the outside edge of the bat?

  17. Sri Lanka reviewpublished at 4.1 overs

Have Sri Lanka got Dom Sibley?

Lasith Embuldeniya thinks he's got him caught a slip, but the umpire says no. Upstairs it goes.

  18. Eng 10-0published at 4 overs

Dom Sibley and Zak Crawley restore some calm with a series of easy singles off Asitha Fernando.

Left-armer Lasith Embuldeniya continues and, mercifully, whizzes through a maiden.
