Joe Root reached his double century from 291 balls with one six and 15 fours.
It's the fifth double hundred by an Englishman in Asia.
I suppose if your captain, who is on 206, comes running past you, you run.
Jack Leach is in!
Michael Vaughan
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special
The ball didn't go anywhere and Joe Root just set off running.
Dom Bess just goes 'oh there's no run there, but I best run' and he's out by about 16 yards.
Bess run out (sub) 0 (Eng 382-7)
Village.
I mean, this is terrible. Joe Root goes for a paddle sweep, goes charging past the bowler as he appeals in vain, and Dom Bess suddenly realises he's going to have to run. He's run out by an absolute mile.
Joe Root celebrates reaching 200 by sweeping Lasith Embuldeniya straight through deep mid-wicket for another four.
A nice moment when Root got his century - he raised his bat to the sole Barmy Army member on the fort, who has done his best to make his voice heard.
Daniel Norcross
BBC Test Match Special
It has been an absolutely splendid innings.
Michael Vaughan
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special
It has been different gravy by Joe Root. He's played with great calmness and control. He's not played any real high-risk shots.
There it is!
A fourth double century for Joe Root, brought up with another glorious, thumping sweep for four. Lovely, lovely stuff.

Andrew Morris: I wonder where Sri Lanka would be if Asitha had bowled more overs. 11 in 105 overs seems a bit weird.
A Fernando 11-1-27-2
This is a different ball that Asitha Fernando is bowling with - the old one was knocked out of shape after being thwacked for six by Joe Root.
Dom Bess is beaten outside off stump and that will be a double wicket maiden for Sri Lanka.
Full, at the stumps, and Dom Bess shows Asitha Fernando the full face of the bat.

Jenifer Moore: Damn.
Michael Vaughan
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special
That was a good ball - it just nipped back and it caught Sam Curran unaware.
Asitha Fernando has been underused.
Dom Bess will face the hat-trick ball.
Daniel Norcross
BBC Test Match Special
That is an absolute beauty! He's taken two wickets with two terrific deliveries.
Curran b Fernando 0 (Eng 372-6)
My word, Asitha Fernando is on a hat-trick!
That is a beaut of a ball, swinging back, nipping through Sam Curran's defences as he wanders forward, and his stumps have been absolutely splattered.
Sam Curran has come out to join Joe Root.
Ebony Rainford-Brent
Former England women's batter on BBC Test Match Special
That was good pace too, 86mph, and a good seam position. It was a beautiful delivery. I just don't understand how he hasn't bowled more.
Daniel Norcross
BBC Test Match Special
That was a terrific bit of bowling.
