Woooft. Mark Wood clatters a bouncer into Chandimal's grille. The batsman ends up on his backside.

Jimmy Anderson's figures show the power of experience, and the power a name can hold. I think Sri Lanka have been playing the name, rather than the balls that are coming at them. It's the power of the mind. It's so important to try and nullify the negative thoughts that come into your mind and just play the ball, and not the hand that it is coming out of.
Dinesh Chandimal plays one of the shots of the day, an extravagant drive through extra cover off Wood. Four runs.
A quiet over from Bess. It seems I was wrong about foxes. I hope my biology teacher isn't reading this.

Sri Lanka is one of the best tours. We talk about how harsh the conditions to play in are, and they are, but the people there have the most amazing love of cricket. It's a brilliant place to play cricket.
Bess will continue after drinks.

Mark Wood is averaging 88mph in his first five overs. The numbers from the first Test showed that only Mitchell Starc had bowled as fast, on average, in Sri Lanka as Mark Wood.
Errrm... more like a cat?

Current debate in the commentary box: is a fox more related to a dog or a cat?
That, my friends, is drinks.

I think there's a hint of reverse swing... they will have to look after the ball and make sure no-one's sweaty hands get on it. If there is some there, then it won't last for long.

BBC cricket correspondent on Test Match Special
Mark Wood is doing his job and adding some aggression to this attack but he has nothing to show for it yet, apart from a lot of sweat.
Mathews 41, Chandimal 17
Luck deserts Mark Wood again. A bouncer hits Chandimal's bat around the handle, loops in the air but falls safely.
Wood follows that with a 94mph ball arrowed in at the boot. Rapid.

Dom Bess has bowled quite nicely in this game. He's settled in better than he did in the first Test.
Cricketers as TV presenters sounds like a good talking point. Stuart Broad a slightly grumpy Paxman?
A ball that is much too full spoils Dom Bess' over a tad. Four from the final ball.

Rachel Armitage: Jimmy is the Sir David Attenborough of cricket - will keep on going forever and is still the best at what he does.
Mathews 37, Chandimal 16
A short ball from Wood has the batsman hopping at the end of the over. The Durham quick still hasn't taken a wicket in this series but has bowled well.
Ooooo. A good, swinging yorker from Wood is dug out by Mathews. Good bowling.

Rachel T: I back the alternate dropping of Broad and Anderson. It makes them very grumpy and therefore bowl brilliantly.
