Is it sliding down with Axar's arm? On first view, it looked close.

Pete Sanderson: Be interesting to see how the successful Indian batters would play Ashwin. Could they run down the same as they did to England’s less experienced spinners?

Kohli, transformed from the shadow that was beaten in the first Test, is conducting the orchestra from leg slip. He asks the crowd for noise and they duly oblige. I'm a massive fan of Virat, probably my favourite batsman to watch, but he'd so annoying to play against. Especially when he's winning.

Re your post at 6:34 Stuart Broad didn't even want to bowl first. This is well documented. Comparing these pitches would be like saying that Kohli was unsure what to do at the toss. Please learn more about cricket Mr Shemilt before making holier than thou posts!

If a pitch spins early, it's a lack of preparation. A green pitch will probably improve throughout the game; this will get worse. What is the point in playing a Test match scheduled for five days on a pitch like this?

Ben Foakes is batting in a chest guard. I'm not sure he will face anyone quick enough to test that, though he might get a spinner spitting one at him. Jos Buttler might have got the perfect time to have a rest.

Heisenberg: That was unplayable. However, India have undermined the integrity of Test cricket with a pitch akin to a baked ploughed field.

I suspect India will bat again.

If they don't, could England even lose today?

    Ashwin 12-2-34-3

Looking again, I've haven't given that delivery from Ashwin enough licks.

It's so full and the angle tricks Stokes into thinking he can play on the leg side.

But the flight messes with Stokes' balance and the sharp turn almost defies geometry.

Ben Foakes is the new man. Good luck.

    Stokes b Ashwin 18 (Eng 52-5)

    Batman has left Gotham City.

Ben Stokes is undone by an absolute beauty from Ravichandran Ashwin. Held back in the air, angled in from round the wicket, sharp turn to take the off stump.

You need a bat as wide as a door to play that.

Axar reminds me a bit of Gareth from The Office. Tall, whispy facial hair, bowl haircut. He's giving Stokes all sorts of problems, with an inside edge on to the thigh pad just dropping out of the grasp of the diving Kohli at leg slip.
