Short, wide, thwacked for four by Ollie Pope. Lovely.

LeBenji: Don't want to jinx him here but Pope's footwork looks so much better to the spinners than last week when he was clean done twice. He's coming to meet the ball and smothering the turn really well, busy little batsman.
A terrific, leaping grab from Rishabh Pant stops Mohammed Siraj whistling four byes over the head of the keeper.
Dan Lawrence then cracks a glorious drive back down the ground and through a diving fielder to pick up another boundary. He's whistling along, with 27 from 41 balls.

At the 1975 Lord's Test against Australia, a tannoy announcement asked my school mate Nick to go to the Grace Gates where his mother was waiting to take him to the dentist.

Ashwin reminds Lawrence of how dangerous he is with a delivery that spins back into him, and only a shuffle of the pad to get it outside the line saves the England batsman.
...and there goes Ravichadran Ashwin.
Short, too short, and Dan Lawrence can hop on the back foot and drive away four glorious runs.
Here's Ravichandran Ashwin...
Ooft! Dan Lawrence pushes with hard hands outside off stump and a thick outside edge flies wide of Rohit Sharma, who would have needed a leap of Superman proportions to get a mitt on that.
Right, what can England salvage?
Mohammed Siraj will get us cracking after tea.
Who knew cricket had so many sassy stadium announcers?

At Worcs for a 40 over game on a particularly hot day. Stadium announcer said "Any large gentlemen wishing to remove their tops, please be aware the Russian whaling fleet is currently moored just down river at Upton upon Severn".

Joe Root was talking so positively about they were going to play and they've put a team out that looks quite defensive. Then Sibley misses a straight ball, Crawley tries to hit over the top very early on - you get the sense there's a lot still going on in their minds. There's a lack of confidence still there.

Thanks, Stephan. Good luck with that.
Right, I'm off to persuade my son to go to nursery. Here's Amy Lofthouse...

This pitch might deteriorate very, very quickly, but I'm not too sure this is a decent score. These two will have to get England over 300. There has been a hint of spin, a bit of seam, and it has generally been a good day for batting.
Lovely way for England to end, a Dan Lawrence drive through mid-on for four. However, 144-5 doesn't seem too clever.

John Petrie: Pope and Lawrence have a real opportunity here. The pitch is not bad so they can make a significant score in terms of the match and series.
This will be the last over before the break...
