  1. Eng 231-6published at 36 overs

    Need 87 from 84 balls

This is going to the wire, isn't it?

    Curran keeps the strike.

  2. Eng 230-6published at 35.4 overs

Curran gets one away - a thumping pull. There's no cutting that off.

  3. Eng 226-6published at 35.3 overs

Once again Bhuvneshwar Kumar looks to be playing a different game. He may not have taken a wicket but has only conceded 17 runs from 5.3 overs.

Curran can only defend so far in his comeback over.

  7. Eng 224-6published at 34.4 overs

Curran nails a drive back down the ground but with the momentum swinging against England it's typically that this one is stopped by the bowler. It would have been four.

The required rate has slipped back above six for the first time since the first few overs.

  8. Eng 223-6published at 34 overs

    Moeen 24, S Curran 3

Krunal Pandya really is firing the ball in. He's not allowing Sam Curran to get under the ball. Only singles.

  9. Eng 222-6published at 33.3 overs

They did win a World Cup with this tactic. Let's not forget that.

England could hunt this down in singles. Why is the mindset to finish within 45 overs and take risky singles. Very strange.

Chris Silverwood looks pretty miserable on the England bench. England need 97 from 102 balls.

Jimmy: re: Mark Edwards. Good things come from learning what you aren’t good and can do better. So yes plenty to take away.

Shambles. Moeen should be back in the hutch. He wasn't even in the picture as sub Shubman Gill threw at the stumps but the throw misses.

  14. Eng 218-6published at 32.2 overs

Sam Curran needs a score. England need him to get one. He's off the mark first ball.

This is a big blow for England as Sam Billings gives it away, driving in the air straight to Virat Kohli who has positioned himself at extra cover.

If the game was in the balance before, India are favourites now.

Fun fact: My woodwork teacher Mr Meadows called me Henry Matthews throughout my year nine school report. I don't think he had a clue who I was.

Pandya bowls a good over. Four from it.

Is this the first time BBC cricket live text has been covered exclusively by reporters with first names as surnames? Something fishy about this...

Bruce makes a good point. We're back under way after drinks. It's Krunal Pandya to Moeen.

The art of nudging around at 5-6 an over for extended periods might be one of the areas negatively impacted by the success of T20, IPL, Big Bash etc.

Kuldeep is really struggling today. I wondered why he didn't play the T20s and we may be seeing why.

He follows that six with a big wide - one that would have gone to slip had the keeper not skipped across.

    106 more needed for England.
