  1. Until tomorrow...published at 19:25 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

Three days down, one to go.

Thanks for your company again today. We'll be back with coverage of the final day of all nine County Championship matches from 10:50 BST tomorrow.

Have a good rest of your evening.

  2. Close of playpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Lancashire 305 & 296-7 v Northamptonshire 177 & 59-3

And our final game comes to an end as Ricardo Vasconcelos (22 not out) and Luke Procter (15 not out) make it to the close.

But it's been Lancashire's day and they'll start tomorrow morning with a lead of 365.

  3. Close of playpublished at 19:17 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Surrey 672-8 dec v Leicestershire 375 & 21-0

Under immense pressure - albeit on a flat deck - Leicestershire have done very well to survive 17 overs without losing a wicket there.

There's still plenty of work to do on the final day at The Oval, but the first part of the Foxes' task has been completed.

  4. Postpublished at 19:15 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Lancashire 305 & 296-7 v Northamptonshire 177 & 57-3

A maiden from Lancashire spinner Matthew Parkinson.

Northamptonshire happy to block out with two overs remaining.

    Nottinghamshire 273 & 260 v Warwickshire 201-9 & 85-3

    Right at the end!

With three balls remaining Warwickshire's danger man Will Rhodes falls six short of his half-century.

It's been Nottinghamshire's session, and Warwickshire will need another 248 runs with seven wickets in hand to take an unlikely win tomorrow.

    That's stumps.

  6. Postpublished at 19:05 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Lancashire 305 & 296-7 v Northamptonshire 177 & 55-3

It's spin at both ends at Old Trafford as Matthew Parkinson and Tom Hartley come into the attack.

    Five overs left until stumps.

  7. Postpublished at 19:02 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Nottinghamshire 273 & 260 v Warwickshire 201-9 & 81-2

Two overs remain at Trent Bridge. Warwickshire's Will Rhodes has made it to 43 from 93 balls. He's joined by Sam Hain who has 19 off 46.

Stuart Broad will come back into the attack for one last push.

  8. Close of playpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Derbyshire 390 & 249-5 v Worcestershire 305

The day comes to a close in Derbyshire too with the hosts 268-5, leading by 353.

Harvey Hosein (33 not out) and Fynn Hudson-Prentice (10 not out) survive until stumps.

  9. Close of playpublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Hampshire 319 & 290-4 dec v Middlesex 79 & 208-4

This has been a really good effort from Middlesex and, in particular, Robbie White (73 not out) and Martin Andersson (25 not out).

Survival on the final day will be the primary aim, although if they bat deep the 323 runs required may even be within grasp.

Either way, Hampshire are a couple of wickets away from the lower order and tail and are still favourites.

  10. Close of playpublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Kent 265-9 & 33-2 v Yorkshire 379 & 330-5

And it's also stumps in Canterbury as centuries for Adam Lyth and Joe Root have put Yorkshire in control.

They've set Kent 445 to win, who finish on 33-2 after Zak Crawley falls late on.

  11. Close of playpublished at 18:54 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Somerset 312 & 149 v Gloucestershire 309 & 28-1

Gloucestershire survive the final over and will require 125 more runs to beat Somerset on the last day with nine wickets in hand.

James Bracey and Kraigg Brathwaite will be there in the morning and, while Somerset will still feel they've got a chance, the visitors are surely favourites from here.

  12. Close of playpublished at 18:54 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Essex 96 & 330 v Durham 259 & 60-3

Stumps on day three in Chelmsford as Durham require a further 108 runs with seven wickets in hand on a bowler-friendly pitch.

We're in for a very intriguing final day.

  13. Postpublished at 18:49 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Somerset 312 & 149 v Gloucestershire 309 & 23-1

Craig Overton will bowl the final over the day. Somerset desperate for a wicket. Gloucestershire determined to survive six more balls.

WICKET Crawley (b Thompson c Lyth) 4published at 18:46 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Kent 265-9 & 33-2 v Yorkshire 379 & 330-5

With just two overs to go, England batsman Zak Crawley goes cheaply, edging Jordan Thompson to Adam Lyth at first slip.

It's been Yorkshire's day today and that's the icing on the cake.

  15. Postpublished at 18:42 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Derbyshire 390 & 249-5 v Worcestershire 305

Another Worcestershire wicket as Anuj Dal adds seven runs before being bowled by Brett D'Oliveira.

Still no sign of a Derbyshire declaration. The hosts lead by 335 runs with five overs before stumps.

Although there are still nearly 10 overs left in the day, you have to say Leicestershire's openers have only confirmed what a good Oval pitch this is so far.

Hassan Azad and Sam Evans have looked very composed.

  17. Close of playpublished at 18:37 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Glamorgan 285 & 258-5 v Sussex 481

Technically all of our games are supposed to finish at 18:30 BST but only Glamorgan's match with Sussex has bowled the required amount of overs so far.

So we're now done for day three at Sophia Gardens with the hosts' Kiran Carlson backing up his century in the first innings with a score of 127 not out in the second at stumps.

Glamorgan have a slender 62-run lead with five wickets remaining.

  18. Postpublished at 18:30 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Lancashire 305 & 296-7 v Northamptonshire 177 & 26-3

More problems for Northamptonshire as Rob Keogh is caught off the bowling of Tom Bailey.

This could be a long final hour with 15 overs still to be bowled.

The visitors are still 399 runs behind with seven wickets in hand.

  19. Postpublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Derbyshire 390 & 239-4 v Worcestershire 305

And just as I praise him, Matthew Crictchley also falls, 16 short of a century.

Daryl Mitchell finds the off-stump for his second wicket of the innings.

  20. wicket

WICKET Dent (b Overton) 9published at 18:26 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Somerset 312 & 149 v Gloucestershire 309 & 10-1

    Now then!

Chris Dent deflects a Craig Overton ball onto his own stumps attempting a leave and Somerset have a breakthrough.

With six and a half overs still to go tonight, they'd dearly love another before stumps.
