  5. 'Glamorgan look to take Sussex into final day'published at 18:09 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Glamorgan 285 & 247-5 v Sussex 481

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan batsman Kiran Carlson has become the first home-grown player in 16 years to score two centuries in a match as they look like taking Sussex into a final day in Cardiff.

Sussex, with a lead of 196 on first innings, had visions of a day off when the dangerous Ollie Robinson took his fourth wicket having Chris Cooke caught behind early in the final session.

But Carlson reached a fluent century off 116 balls with 16 boundaries, finding useful support from Callum Taylor.

The scoring rate dried up in the evening sun, 20 year old off-spinner Jack Carson and left-armer Delray Rawlins bowling probing spells as Sussex waited for the new ball.

  6. Postpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Lancashire 305 & 296-7 v Northamptonshire 177 & 19-1

Not the start Northamptonshire would have wanted as a leading edge from Ben Curran falls straight to Rob Jones at cover off the bowling of Saqib Mahmood.

The visitors need a mammoth 406 to win. We've got 12 overs before stumps at Old Trafford.

Brilliant from Nottinghamshire youngster Lyndon James who outfoxes India batsman Hanuma Vihari, bowling him out for eight.

Will Rhodes, unbeaten on 27 not out, now has Sam Hain for company. Warwickshire need another 292 to win.

  9. Surrey declare on 672-8published at 18:01 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

Surrey have had enough - they fancy having a 17-over dart at Leicestershire before the close tonight.

Jordan Clark finishes unbeaten on 61, but the day really belongs to Ollie Pope and his 245.

    Surrey's lead is 297.

  10. Postpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Hampshire 319 & 290-4 dec v Middlesex 79 & 158-4

Nick Gubbins battled really well for his 67 but he's been removed by Ian Holland and his 122-run fourth-wicket stand with Robbie White is done.

White, as it happens, has just brought up his own-half century with Martin Andersson now for company.

Middlesex still need another 373 runs.

  11. wicket

Kent need 445 to winpublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Derbyshire 390 & 207-3 v Worcestershire 305

Finally Derbyshire's 129-run third-wicket partnership is broken as Wayne Madsen is trapped lbw for 6 by Daryl Mitchell.

Harvey Hosein joins Matthew Critchley (73 not out) in the middle. The hosts lead by 292 runs. No sign of a declaration yet.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Jordan Clarkpublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Surrey 655-7 v Leicestershire 375

Surrey may have lost centurions Ollie Pope and Jamie Smith, but Jordan Clark has carried on where they left off.

He moves onto 52 with successive sixes off Colin Ackermann, the man who earlier ended Pope's 245-run stay.

The Surrey lead is now 280 and they may well fancy a dart at Leicestershire before the close tonight such is the speed with which they've scored their runs this evening.
