    Nottinghamshire 273 & 145-4 v Warwickshire 201-9

    Another for England's Olly Stone.

It's an important wicket, too, as Stone has Joe Clarke caught behind for 56 to leave Notts 145-4.

With two relatively new batsmen at the crease, Warwickshire will feel this next passage of play is particularly important to their chances of winning.

  2. Postpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Glamorgan 285 & 25-0 v Sussex 481

There's also been very little drama in the first seven overs of Glamorgan's second innings.

Openers Nick Selman (8 not out) and David Lloyd (17 not out) are looking comfortable.

  3. Postpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Derbyshire 390 v Worcestershire 262-7

I've yet to mention the match at Derby, which is probably credit to Worcestershire batsmen Ed Barnard (19 not out) and Alzarri Joseph (19 not out).

The pair have added 19 to the Pears' overnight total in safely negotiating the first half an hour of day three without too many dramas.

They do, however, still trail by 128 runs.

  4. The best of Ollie Popepublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Surrey 282-3 v Leicestershire 375

Some really nice stuff in here from England batsman Ollie Pope...

  5. wicket

Gloucestershire 309 all outpublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

Marchant de Lange dismisses Matt Taylor for 56 to end with figures of 4-63 and, more importantly for Somerset, finish the Gloucestershire innings.

The hosts hold a narrow three-run lead over their local rivals, meaning this has essentially now become a two-day one-innings-per-side contest at Taunton.

  6. 100 runs

100 for Ian Hollandpublished at 11:30 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Hampshire 319 & 223-3 v Middlesex 79

    There it is!

Ian Holland's had enough playing out dot balls and swats spinner Nathan Sowter away for four to bring up his century.

He and Sam Northeast (105 not out) have taken the game completely beyond Middlesex, who at one point had Hampshire 2-2.

  7. Postpublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Essex 96 & 224-7 v Durham 259

While we've been focusing on a couple of centurions, Paul Walter has brought up his half-century for Essex.

Walter, who's now on 60 from 90 balls, has played a bit of a lone hand since England's Dan Lawrence was dismissed for 76 yesterday evening.

  8. Postpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Hampshire 319 & 218-2 v Middlesex 79

I gave Ian Holland the big build-up but he's faced nine successive dot balls while on 99. He's in no hurry to reach three figures, clearly.

  9. Postpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Kent 265-9 v Yorkshire 379 & 24-1

    Grant StewartImage source, Rex Features

Let's quickly go to Canterbury and Kent have struck early as opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore is caught at slip off the bowling of Grant Stewart for three.

Yorkshire's Tom Loten joins opener Adam Lyth (19 not out) at the crease. Remember Lyth made 97 in the first innings.

  10. 100 runs

100 for Ollie Popepublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Surrey 272-3 v Leicestershire 375

    Ollie PopeImage source, Rex Features

But first a century for England batsman Ollie Pope to tell you about!

The 23-year-old, who has shared 180 with international team-mate Ben Foakes, has reached the milestone from 123 balls.

A typically free-flowing, free-scoring knock, it's the 10th first-class ton of his relatively short career. Well played.

  11. Postpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Hampshire 319 & 217-2 v Middlesex 79

Ian Holland has moved onto 99 at Southampton.

He and Sam Northeast have put on 215 for the third wicket so far...

  12. Postpublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Nottinghamshire 273 & 131-3 v Warwickshire 201-9

Elsewhere, Haseeb Hameed added just two to his overnight 51 before being dismissed by Will Rhodes.

The Notts lead over Warwickshire is 203.

  13. 100 runs

100 for Sam Northeastpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Hampshire 319 & 215-2 v Middlesex 79

When Sam Northeast went to bed last night just one run away from a century he'll have been desperate to reach that milestone as quickly as possible on the third morning - and he's done so.

The 30-year-old has brought up the 25th ton of his first-class career as Hampshire carry on where they left off yesterday evening.

He's on 103 not out from 166 balls, including 12 fours.

His partner Ian Holland has also moved to within two runs of a century...

  14. Postpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Lancashire 305 & 65-2 v Northamptonshire 177

A ray of hope for Northamptonshire as Alex Davies feathers one behind off the bowling of Tom Taylor.

He falls for 36 and the visitors have two new men at the crease in Josh Bohannon and Steven Croft.

  15. wicket

Sussex 481 all outpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

No further heroics with the bat from Ollie Robinson who finishes with 67 from 134 balls.

He's pinned lbw by Michael Hogan who collects figures of 4-46.

Glamorgan, who made 285 in the first innings, need another 196 runs just to make Sussex bat again.

  16. Postpublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Somerset 312 v Gloucestershire 304-9

Somerset will have come out absolutely determined to wrap up this Gloucestershire innings as quickly as possible this morning and they've already taken one of the two wickets they're after.

Marchant de Lange has taken a really smart caught-and-bowled chance to dismissed David Payne for 12.

Dominic Goodman, on his first-class debut, is the Glos number 11.

  17. Postpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Lancashire 305 & 65-1 v Northamptonshire 177

    LancashireImage source, Rex Features

And there's an early wicket for Northamptonshire as Ben Sanderson traps Keaton Jennings leg before for 27.

Just the start the visitors needed, although it's still very much advantage Lancashire who lead by 192 runs at Old Trafford.

  19. wicket

WICKET Hamer (lbw Raine) 6published at 11:03 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Essex 96 & 208-7 v Durham 259

    That didn't take long.

If Essex have any chance of pulling something off in this match they'll need their tail to do some serious wagging, but their morning has got off to the worst possible start.

Simon Harmer, who took a five-fer in the Durham innings, is pinned in front for six.

Essex's lead is still just 45.
