  1. Play under way at Leicesterpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Leicestershire 496 v Surrey 158-0

You'd be forgiven for not remembering the state of play in this one given how long it's been seen we've seen any action.

Play finally got under way about 15 minutes ago and it's Surrey openers Rory Burns (74*) and Mark Stoneman (71*) who resume their unbroken partnership.

Stoneman has been the aggressor in the early stages with three boundaries - no time needed to feel his way back into it clearly.

Surrey still trail by a sizeable 332 runs though.

  2. 6 runs

for Bohannonpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Lancashire 182-3 v Glamorgan 344

This is some clean striking by Lancashire pair Josh Bohannon and Liam Livingstone.

It's now two sixes apiece as Bohannon takes a couple of steps down the track and whacks Marnus Labuschagne for a straight maximum.

These two have put on 50 in 10 overs.

  3. Play starts at Headingleypublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Yorkshire 240-5 v Kent 305

Finally we have some cricket after four and a half sessions without any at Headingley.

Gary Ballance resumes on 91 with Dom Bess for company.

47 overs remain in the day and 33 of those are bonus-point territory.

  4. Worcestershire declare leading by 21 runspublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Warwickshire 343 v Worcestershire 364-8 dec

Pears skipper Joe Leach, who was batting alongside the excellent Ed Barnard (76*), has called time on his side's innings.

They have a lead on 21 and there a minimum 53 overs left in the day.

They'll need some quick wickets if we are going to get a positive result and worth remembering again that all Worcestershire's games this season have been draws so far!

    McManus c Hildreth b Davey 19 (Hampshire 79 & 188-8 v Somerset 336)

While Craig Overton has been performing heroics, Josh Davey has also been in fine form today and he has his third of the day.

James Hildreth takes the catch at slip to remove Lewis McManus who made 19 off 78.

Hampshire are still 69 behind and now have only two wickets in hand.

  6. 6 runs

for Bohannonpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Lancashire 163-3 v Glamorgan 344

Josh Bohannon gets in on the six action for Lancashire now, smacking Andrew Salter over his head.

Bohannon and Liam Livingstone are on the charge.

  7. Lancs lose Jennings but Livingstone attackingpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Lancashire 152-3 v Glamorgan 344

Keaton Jennings has fallen to Andrew Salter for 64, but Liam Livingstone has since come in and started his innings with a bang.

Livingstone got off the mark with a big six over mid wicket off spinner Salter and followed it two balls later with another maximum down the ground.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Joseph c Yates b Briggs 17 (Warwickshire 343 v Worcestershire 352-8)

Alzarri Joseph's entertaining run-a-ball 17 comes to an end as he tries another big shot off the bowling of Danny Briggs.

However on this occasion he can't clear the boundary rope and instead finds Robert Yates waiting in the deep.

He scored two fours and one six in that whirlwind of an innings and Worcestershire are looking to accelerate their scoring now.

They've moved nine runs into the lead.

  9. wicket

    Vince c Davies b Overton 42 (Hampshire 79 & 179-7 v Somerset 336)

    James VinceImage source, Rex Features

Somerset have made the breakthrough and there's no prizes for guessing who's involved

Craig Overton picks-up his fifth of the innings and it's the prize wicket of Hampshire skipper James Vince, who had been doing a great impression of an immovable object.

It's a smart catch from wicketkeeper Steve Davies too, diving to his right.

Wicket number 32 for the season for Overton and that feels like a decisive one.

  10. 50 runs

for Barnardpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Warwickshire 343 v Worcestershire 332-7

Ed Barnard's done very well since coming in this morning when Worcestershire were in a mild bit of bother after losing two quick wickets.

He's notched-up his second half-century of the season as Worcestershire close-in on the Bears' total, trailing now by only 11.

Alzarri Joseph is still with him and is providing some quickfire runs.

  11. Hampshire frustrating Somersetpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Hampshire 79 & 173-6 v Somerset 336

James Vince (38*) and Lewis McManus (14*) are doing a good job of frustrating Somerset's bowlers.

Scoring is slow and there are an awful lot of dot balls on the scorecard.

Craig Overton has been in splendid form but even he's having trouble cracking this partnership.

    Hampshire trail by 84.

  12. 50 runs

for Jenningspublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Lancashire 117-2 v Glamorgan 344

Lancashire opener Keaton Jennings is in good early-season form.

The one-time England man brings up his third half-century in seven innings with a lovely cover drive to the boundary off Michael Neser.

It's been a patient knock - 163 balls to get there - but there's no huge rush with the game drifting to a draw.

Can he go on to make it a hundred?

  13. Play to start at 14:45 BST at Headingleypublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

Yorkshire 240-5 v Kent 305 - start delayed, wet outfield

After yesterday's deluge, the umpires are confident the outfield is dry enough and so they'll get under way in about 50 minutes.

47 overs to be bowled and it's all about how many batting and bowling bonus points each side can get.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

Haynes run out Norwell 87 (Warwickshire 343 v Worcestershire 306-7)

Oh no. What a shame for Jack Haynes whose fine innings comes to an end in very unfortunate circumstances.

He's been run out while backing up by bowler Liam Norwell, who flicks the ball onto the stumps from Ed Barnard's straight drive.

Haynes fell 13 short of a century but his knock has helped move the Pears within 37 of the Warwickshire total.

New batsman Alzarri Joseph didn't mess around after joining the action - he's hoisted Danny Briggs over the boundary for six with his first ball!

Still awaiting news on starts at Leicestershire and Headingley.

  16. 'Somerset plugging away'published at 13:21 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Lunch: Hants 79 & 165-6 v Somerset 336

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent

Somerset continue to plug away to try and get the wickets they need to win this game.

The pitch and overhead conditions are still helping the bowler.

Josh Davey with the old ball whittled out Joe Weatherley (44) and Liam Dawson (0) before the second new ball was taken.

It was certainly a rearguard action from Weatherley who batted for around four and a quarter hours and faced 209 balls. But at least it was his highest score of the season.

Dawson picked up a pair as he was trapped lbw not playing a shot.

Eight overs of the new ball have so far not produced for Somerset, as captain James Vince (32* off 98 balls) is in block mode.

  17. 'Cautious session at Old Trafford'published at 13:18 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Lunch: Lancashire 108-2 v Glamorgan 344

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

It’s been a cautious first session at Old Trafford as the teams battle for bonus points after a third-day washout.

Queenslander Michael Neser claimed his first wicket for Glamorgan when he had Alex Davies caught behind for 15 in an economical first spell.

Luke Wells provided some impetus to the innings but fell for 30 in spinner Andrew Salter’s first spell of the season, Dan Douthwaite hanging on to the skied catch in a swirling wind.

Keaton Jennings is on a patient 46 not out after 50 overs, with Glamorgan using three spinners in their efforts to disturb him.

  20. NOTTS BEAT ESSEXpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 9 May 2021
    Breaking

Notts 323 v Essex 99 & 194 all out (Notts win by an innings and 30 runs)

They've wrapped it up quicker than expected this morning - in pretty much dead-on two hours in fact.

Jamie Porter was the last man out, edging Luke Fletcher behind to Tom Moores to give Notts a comprehensive victory.

Essex started on 129-3 but couldn't build-up any sort of head of steam, losing wickets at regular intervals through the morning session.

The win currently moves Notts to the top of Group One, with the result of the Warwickshire v Worcestershire game still to come.
