    Surrey 190 & 135-0 v Middlesex 160

Surrey start the day 165 in front - but how big a lead does Rory Burns want before making the declaration?

He is 61 not out and opening partner Mark Stoneman has 74. Ethan Bamber is bowling the first over for Middlesex.

  3. Glamorgan declare with big deficitpublished at 10:56 British Summer Time 23 May 2021

    Kent 307 v Glamorgan 64-3

Here’s a surprise move.. a run chase apparently agreed at Canterbury as Glamorgan declare 243 runs behind at the start of day four.

A battle for bonus points had looked more likely if Glamorgan avoided the outside chance of a follow-on.

We’ve seen relatively few declarations in the Championship in 2021 - but Glamorgan saw their third-innings declaration at Northampton come back to bite them.

It's not clear how good the pitch is as we’ve seen more inactivity than action over the first three days.

  4. Delayed start at Northamptonpublished at 10:54 British Summer Time 23 May 2021

    Northamptonshire v Lancashire 75-1

No ground has seen less cricket over the past four days than Wantage Road, with only 28.1 overs bowled so far. It's overcast but dry at the moment, but a prompt start won't be possible after yesterday's rain.

Alex Davies is 45 not out for Lancashire, with Luke Wells yet to score.

County Championship cricket - this way!

    Well, let's hope so anyway.

We've had far too many rain interruptions for our liking over the past three days - but maybe there could still be one or two exciting finishes in store.

Good morning. Play is due to start at 11:00 BST.
