  1. Flying Foxes make fine startpublished at 13:17 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Leicestershire 136 & 167-2, Middlesex 295 & 218

Leicestershire have made an amazing start to the final day - losing just one wicket this morning - as they continue their chase of 378.

Sam Evans was strangled down the leg side by Tom Helm early on and the prospects looked good for the visitors but, as Nick Gubbins said this morning, there isn't as much in the pitch for the seamers after a lively first two days.

More worryingly perhaps there isn't as much for the spinners as expected following the turn on show on the first morning.

Whether the pitch has flattened or not, a great deal hinges on the new ball which is 16 overs away.

That is likely to be a deciding factor on who can grab victory in a match Middlesex will feel they've dominated for the first three days.

  2. Surrey beat Gloucestershire by an innings and 47 runspublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 30 May 2021
    Breaking

    Surrey 495 v Gloucestershire 158 & 268

Daniel Moriarty has his eighth of the match as Dan Worrall misjudges a straight one and is bowled through the gate for 24.

It leaves Jonny Tattersall stranded on 86 not out. A great knock for the Yorkshire loannee who had been dropped by his parent club. Performances like this one today will certainly get him noticed again.

Surrey's big win keeps them in top two contention in Group Two.

  3. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

Notts 34-1 v Warwickshire (Target: 309 to win)

Eight overs of the Nottinghamshire innings gone - and they have already reached 34-1 in their pursuit of 309 to win.

The initial impression is that Notts will make a serious attempt to chase these runs.

Ben Slater is on 18, while Ben Duckett, no shrinking violet when given licence to play his natural game, is already on 14, having so far hit three boundaries in the eight balls he has faced.

With the equally free spirited Joe Clarke next man in for Notts, the afternoon session could prove entertaining.

A minimum of 66 overs remain. Notts need 275 more runs. Warwickshire need nine wickets.

  4. Lunch at Grace Roadpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Leicestershire 167-2 (target 378)

Marcus Harris finishes the morning session with a single, he'll return on 93 not out.

Just the one wicket for Middlesex today who were favourites overnight when they led by 303.

Now Leicestershire are 211 off the win and I'd say they're very much in the driving seat.

  5. Lunch at Old Traffordpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Yorkshire 159 & 144-4, Lancashire 509-9 dec

Yorkshire go to lunch still hopeful of saving this game.

Having lost two early wickets in the first half hour this morning, Harry Brook (34) and George Hill (17) have seen out the remaining 90 minutes of the session without any further major alarm.

But Saqib Mahmood looked extremely lively earlier - and the new ball is due in the second over after lunch.

  6. Postpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Leicestershire 166-2 (target 378)

And speaking of hunting down centuries, a flurry of boundaries sees Marcus Harris move into the nervous 90s.

The Australian is unbeaten on 92, joined by skipper Colin Ackermann who has 36 not out.

This pair have put on an 83-run partnership this morning, with Leicestershire only 212 runs away from an unlikely win.

  7. Postpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Surrey 495 v Gloucestershire 158 & 255-9

Sweep after sweep after sweep for Jonny Tattersall who is hunting down a first century in Gloucestershire colours.

He's now moved on to 80 while Dan Worrall is unbeaten on 17.

  8. Pears celebrate first winpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

Worcestershire (421) beat Derbyshire (270 & 128) by an innings and 23 runs

    Dan Wheeler
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

In the end, it wasn't long before the muffled strains of 'The Worcester boys are happy' echoed down from the top deck of the Graeme Hick Pavilion after the Pears wrapped up victory.

It was their first County Championship win since September 2019 - and only 50 balls were needed to winkle out the last four Derbyshire batters.

Once Wayne Madsen was caught behind from a corker off Joe Leach, the not-so-pleasant writing was on the wall for the visitors.

Dillion Pennington scribbled out his career-best figures of 4-44 yesterday to write new ones today, ending with 5-32, a maiden 'five-fer' to chalk up match figures of 9-76.

Worcestershire's win keeps them in the mix for a top-two finish but, realistically all three of their remaining home games needed to be won. One down. Two to go.

  9. Postpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Surrey 495 v Gloucestershire 158 & 231-9

Well Jonny Tattersall isn't hanging around then. The Yorkshire loanee smashes Will Jacks for a four and then a six to move on to 69 not out.

Number 11 Dan Worrall then has a bit of fun, striking Amir Virdi for back-to-back boundaries in the next over.

    Gloucestershire trail by 84.

  10. wicket

Hameed goes cheaply at Edgbastonpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Hameed c Burgess b Norwell 2 (Notts 8-1 v Warwickshire - target 309 to win)

Recalled England batsman Haseeb Hameed is caught behind off the penultimate ball of Liam Norwell's second over.

It's the second time Norwell has got him in this match.

Bad start for Notts, chasing 309 to win.

Ben Duckett is the new man in.

  11. Notts innings underway at Edgbastonpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

Notts 6-0 v Warwickshire (target 309 to win)

Notts openers Ben Slater and Haseeb Hameed are underway at Edgbaston in their pursuit of 309 to win in 74 overs.

Having started this game on top of Group One, they have since been overtaken by Essex's three-day win over Durham.

Will they go for victory? Or will they settle for 13 points from a draw, which would be enough to lift them back on top?

  12. Postpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Surrey 495 v Gloucestershire 158 & 212-9

A fourth for Amir Virdi and Surrey as so nearly there.

David Payne is out for 14, caught at mid-on by Laurie Evans. Number 11 Daniel Worrall is the last man in, joining Jonny Tattersall who's on 59.

  13. Tykes build again at Old Traffordpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Yorkshire 159 &124-4, Lancashire 509-9 dec

Harry Brook and George Hill are digging in for Yorkshire.

After Saqib Mahmood's two early strikes for Lancashire, Brook (24) and Hill (11) have so far put on 34, but Yorkshire are just 11 overs away from a second new ball.

    That could yet prove crucial.

  14. Postpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Surrey 495 v Gloucestershire 158 & 192-8

Gloucestershire may only be delaying the inevitable but Jonny Tattersall seems pretty delighted to bring up his half-century.

The 26-year-old keeper sweeps Amir Virdi for four to bring up his 50 off 104 balls with six fours and one six. That's his ninth half-century in first-class cricket.

Now, will he go big to try to reach his second ever century with just two wickets in hand?

  15. wicket

Bears all out for 264 at Edgbastonpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Norwell b Fletcher 0 (Warwickshire 341 & 264, Notts 297)

Warwickshire are bowled out second time around - and that sets Nottinghamshire a victory target of 309 to win in 74 overs.

No last-wicket heroics this time around as Liam Norwell is bowled by Luke Fletcher for a nine-ball duck.

Fletcher finishes with 4-38.That takes his wicket tally to 34 for the season. Only Chris Rushworth and Craig Overton have taken more.

  16. Postpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Leicestershire 130-2 (target 378)

We're in for some finish at Grace Road today as Middlesex try to break a 47-run partnership between Colin Ackermann (14 not out) and Marcus Harris (78 not out).

No signs of frustration yet from the Londoners but they may get nervy soon with Leicestershire 248 runs away from an unlikely win.

  17. Postpublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Surrey 495 v Gloucestershire 158 & 181-8

Back to the Oval and Surrey have another breakthrough.

This time substitute fielder Nico Reifer takes a simple catch at long on as Matt Taylor (15) is removed by Amir Virdi who now has figures of 3-54.

The hosts need two more scalps to win. Gloucestershire need 134 more runs just to make Surrey bat again.

  18. wicket

50 and out for Danny Briggspublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Briggs b Fletcher 50 (Warwickshire 341 & 259-9 v Notts 297)

One wicket left to take for Notts now as Luke Fletcher bowls Danny Briggs just after he had reached his 50 - his second this season for the Bears.

Last pair Liam Norwell and Oliver Hannon-Dalby, who shared a 52-run last-wicket stand in the first innings, are back together again.

The Bears lead is now over 300.

  19. Northants beat Sussex by seven wicketspublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 30 May 2021
    Breaking

    Sussex 175 & 298 v Northamptonshire 256 & 218-3

A few singles and then Saif Zaib carves a four.

A much easier morning for Northamptonshire than we thought, thanks to the heroics of Zaib (47 not out) and Rob Keogh (60 not out).

Let's not forget Simon Kerrigan's heroics with the ball yesterday either. His 5-70 set up this win for the visitors.

Defeat leaves Sussex with just one first-class win so far this season.

  20. Postpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Northamptonshire 212-3 (target 218)

Booo, Rob Keogh (59 not out) strikes a four and then a two. Only six required now. Zaib (42 not out) at the non-strikers end will have to knock two fours if he wants his 50.

To be honest, if he does miss out on a milestone I don't think he'll mind that much. But I kind of do. He's deserved it, batting Northants out of danger and towards a comfortable win.
