Beware the bowler who has just got runs!

With the ball in hand and buoyed by his 51 with the bat, Luke Fletcher has struck in his first over.

WICKET Holder lbw b Mahmood 6published at 15:11 British Summer Time 31 August 2021

Lancashire v Warwickshire 371 all out

Warwickshire last man Chemar Holder makes an all-action six which included a massive slog off Matt Parkinson but he has no answer to Saqib Mahmood's fast in-swinging delivery.

Mahmood finishes with 4-77 and he has led a Red Rose fightback today. Beginning the day at 259-3, the visitors have lost seven for 112 today.

However, thanks to centuries for Chris Benjamin and Sam Hain yesterday, the Championship leaders will still be satisfied with 371, even if it was slow going at times.

Meanwhile, James Vince - who has passed 500 Championship runs for the season - has survived a loud lbw appeal by Steve Patterson.

After enjoying himself for his 51, the number ten tries to launch Roelof van der Merwe down the M5, but he doesn't get all of it and Tom Lammonby is underneath it to take the catch at long on.

A superb effort from Notts after being put in to bat with Liam Patterson-White's 101 the highlight of a very fine team batting performance.

James Vince is building a head of steam.

Two successive boundaries are clipped away through the leg-side at the start of a new Jordan Thompson over and the fifth ball disappears to the vacant third man area for another.

  12. Maybe the other one wasn't....published at 14:45 British Summer Time 31 August 2021

    Hampshire 49-3 v Yorkshire 243

Yorkshire's Jordan Thompson runs in for his second over, and after a single for Tom Alsop, there's that James Vince cover drive again.

It's a matter of aesthetics, but that looked even better than the last one (see 14:34 entry). Effortless.
