  1. 'Little encouragement' for Sussexpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    D3: Leicestershire 152-2 v Sussex 359 - tea

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex commentator

Another good session for the hosts, who are chipping away at the Sussex total and trail by 207 at tea.

Hassan Azad (72*) has looked untroubled throughout his innings, and with 37 overs still to be bowled, Leicestershire will be looking to press home their advantage, on what is a very flat wicket with little encouragement for the bowlers.

  2. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    Somerset 90 & 89-1 v Lancashire 373

A much better hour from Somerset who finish a run short of their first-innings score, just one wicket down.

Tom Lammonby has been especially impressive, he's not out on 45 from 48. Azhar Ali also remains unbeaten with seven from 15.

Still very much Lancashire's game though. The Red Rose County lead by 194.

    OMG.

From 26-0, Hampshire are in disarray as Nick Gubbins pushes forward and the ball seams back just enough to take him on the pad.

The umpire upholds Dane Paterson's appeal and the South African now has figures of 3-2.

    The Hampshire lead is 99.

    Weatherley c Moores b Fletcher 7 (Hampshire 226 & 28-3 v Notts 155)

Luke Fletcher roars in and there's a third wicket for Notts in the space of 10 balls. Joe Weatherley pushes forward, but the thinnest of edges goes through to the keeper and the Hampshire opener is gone.

Home skipper James Vince is out in the middle now and his wicket is the one Notts - no doubt inspired by the Spice Girls - really, REALLY want.

    Yorkshire 108 v Warwickshire 155 & 151-8

How many times have we seen Tim Bresnan lead a counter-attack with the bat at Headingley?

It's happened again, this time though in Warwickshire colours against Yorkshire.

He's rushed to 31 off 47 to bring up the Bears' 150. The visitors lead by 198.

    Alsop c Hameed b Paterson 0 (Hampshire 226 & 26-2 v Notts 155)

What a start by Dane Paterson.

That isn't a great delivery but it takes a leading edge as Tom Alsop plays to leg and Haseeb Hameed says 'thank you' at mid-wicket.

    Holland c sub b Paterson 16 (Hampshire 226 & 26-1 v Notts 155)

Notts make a change and here comes Dane Paterson.

His first ball takes the edge and 12th man Calvin Harrison accepts the chance at first slip - not a great stroke, that one.

Harrison is on the field for Joe Clarke, who suffered a hand injury while fielding in Hampshire's first innings.

The home side lead by 97 as Tom Alsop begins his innings.

    Green st Davies b Parkinson 31 (Somerset 90 & 69-1 v Lancashire 373)

One shot too many for Ben Green who falls for a quick 31 off 42 balls.

Spinner Matt Parkinson drags down a wide one, tricking an advancing Green who turns to see his bails on the floor.

Azhar Ali comes in. The one Somerset player who looked set during the first innings.

    Hampshire 226 & 24-0 v Notts 155

Ian Holland clips Brett Hutton away through the leg-side for four and advances to 16 not out. He is beaten by the final ball of the over, but there is no nick and it's so far, so good for Hampshire, who lead by 95.

    Pope c Wheater b Porter 5 (Surrey 19-3 v Essex 439)

Had the fifth Test gone ahead, India's bowlers couldn't have improved on that delivery by Jamie Porter, which has seen off England batsman Ollie Pope. A magnificent leg-cutter which Pope edges to to the keeper. He can't believe it and dallies at the crease for several seconds before trudging off.

    Bethell b Fisher 8 (Yorkshire 108 v Warwickshire 155 & 130-8)

Another one goes as Matt Fisher has youngster Jacob Bethall bowled out for eight.

Warwickshire's lead is at 177. Anything above 200 and you'd say they'd be firm favourites.

Another quailty over from Luke Fletcher ends with an lbw shout. Hampshire opener Joe Weatherley survives and there are another 12 overs to go before the tea interval.

    Somerset 90 & 40-0 v Lancashire 373

Much better from Somerset's openers who have so far added 40 without loss.

Tom Lammonby on 22 not out looks particularly composed as Lancashire still search for the first wicket of this second innings.

  15. Latest from Divisions Two and Threepublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

Surrey lost both openers for ducks so Hashim Amla and Ollie Pope are together in the middle with the score 19-2, replying to Essex's 439 all out.

Northamptonshire are looking to pick up the final two Durham wickets at Wantage Road, where the visitors are 66 ahead on 249-8.

Chris Dent has passed 50 for Gloucestershire, who are 137-2 in Cardiff after Glamorgan totalled 309.

In Division Three, Ed Barnard had Martin Andersson lbw for 45 and Middlesex are 111-5, 84 ahead of Worcestershire.

Sussex have the wicket of George Rhodes at Leicester, but Hassan Azad has progressed to 63 in the home side's 131-2.

Kent are 18-0 in their second innings, a lead of 147, after Grant Stewart's 5-23 helped bowl out Derbyshire for 156.

    Hampshire 226 & 2-0 v Notts 155

Joe Weatherley only averages 18 in the Championship this season - how Hampshire would love a sizeable score from him today.

For now, though, he is able to watch from the safety of the other end as Ian Holland plays out a maiden by Brett Hutton.

The onus now on Hampshire's batsmen to consolidate this healthy position.

Matthew Fisher comes in for a new spell and has Michael Burgess caught at point first ball.

An inspired bowling change. The danger man is sent back to the dressing room.

    Paterson c Gubbins b Wheal 6 (Hampshire 226 v Notts 155)

Division One leaders Notts trail by 71 on first innings after number 11 Dane Paterson is caught by a diving Nick Gubbins.

Brad Wheal has 2-24 - but the bowling plaudits go to Keith Barker, who sent down 20 overs for career-best figures of 7-46.

Is a first Championship title since 1973 heading Hampshire's way? It'll certainly be a lot more likely if they can win this game as they will lead Notts - who were 10.5 points ahead of them at the start - going into the final round of matches.

Essex's first innings is over at the Kia Oval - they made 439 all out and Cameron Steel and Ryan Patel are opening for Surrey.

Paul Coughlin missed out on a fifty for Durham - he was caught at slip off Jack White for 48 - but they are 233-7, a lead of 50 over Northants.

Gloucestershire have lost Tom Lace, caught behind off David Lloyd, and are 105-2, replaying to Glamorgan's 309 all out.

Martin Andersson and Max Holden have reached a 50 partnership for Middlesex, who are 90-4 against Worcestershire, a lead of 63.

Hassan Azad brought up a half century with four runs off Sean Hunt and is now 52 not out for Leicestershire, who are 2108-1 against Sussex.
