    Davies c Davies b Blatherwick 1 (Somerset 67-6 v Lancashire 373)

    One brings two.

Jack Blatherwick gets his second, getting one to swing away from left-hander Steven Davies who feathers one behind to the keeper.

Somerset in big, big trouble. They trail by 306 runs.

  2. Postpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    Hampshire 226 v Notts 122-7

Keith Barker finds the edge but he's out of luck this time as the ball flies into a gap and brings Liam Patterson-White four runs.

The left-hander strokes the final ball of the over through the covers and is 46 not out after an excellent chase by Nick Gubbins restricts Notts to two.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    Goldsworthy c Jones b Blatherwick 15 (Somerset 65-5 v Lancashire 373)

Finally got him, and there's no man more relived than Luke Wells.

Rinse and repeat as Jack Blatherwick again finds the edge. This time the ball flies low to second slip and Rob Jones makes no mistake, holding on.

A deserved first wicket after lunch for Lancashire.

  4. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    Somerset 65-4 v Lancashire 373

Not one, but two dropped catches from Luke Wells at first slip.

Both came from edges off Lewis Goldsworthy's (15) bat and both were trickier than they looked, in that sort of hands under the ball / hands over the ball zone.

But the man who made a century yesterday will be kicking himself.

Frustration for the bowler Jack Blatherwick too. He still searches for his first wicket of the match.

  5. Postpublished at 13:35 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    Yorkshire 108 v Warwickshire 155 & 58-4

That's more like it. Dom Sibley (25) and Michael Burgess (17) have both started to accelerate now with a couple of boundaries to take Warwickshire past 50.

The lead stands at 105. You feel Yorkshire need two quick wickets to get back into this game.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    Evison c Alsop b Barker 1 (Hampshire 226 v Notts 115-7)

It's a career-best for Keith Barker, who takes seven in an innings for the first time in his career as Joey Evison inside edges to the keeper.

Liam Patterson-White hit the first ball of that over through square leg for four and is 39 not out - but he needs support to push this Notts total on. A batting point is a long way away at the moment.

Essex are pressing on at the Kia Oval and have now reached 428-6, with Adam Wheater on 30 not out.

Tight bowling from Northamptonshire at Wantage Road, but Durham have earned their first batting point by reaching 200-6, 17 in front.

Gloucestershire have lost their first wicket in Cardiff, with Miles Hammond caught behind off Michael Hogan for 34. They are 63-1, replaying to the home side's 309 all out.

In Division Three, Leicestershire are 58-1, with Hassan Azad 31 not out, after Sussex totalled 359.

He did it this morning and he's doing it again now.

That's all six for Keith Barker as Ben Slater is caught at second slip.

The left-hander was caught in two minds and was trying to take the bat away when it caught the under-edge.

He looks to the heavens before walking off as his stand of 70 with Liam Patterson-White comes to an end.

  9. Postpublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

The possibility of a two-day game at Lord's is growing.

Middlesex have lost Robbie White and Robson since the resumption after lunch - Robson caught behind off Joe Leach for 22 after earlier passing 1,000 runs for the season - and they are 39-4, just 12 ahead of Worcestershire.

    Hampshire 226 v Notts 107-5

Which way will this one go this afternoon?

BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James maintains the ball has not done as much for the Hampshire bowlers as it did for their Notts counterparts on day one.

Another inspired spell by Keith Barker, though, and Notts could find themselves in serious trouble once more, having been 39-5 earlier on.

    D3: Leicestershire 51-1 v Sussex 359 - lunch

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex commentator

A good morning for Leicestershire, who picked up the five remaining Sussex wickets for just 49 runs.

Chris Wright was the pick of the bowlers, taking four of those wickets, and finishing with impressive figures of 6-94

Ben Brown finished undefeated on 133, making the most of being dropped on three yesterday.

In reply Sean Hunt had Sam Evans neatly taken at second slip by Delray Rawlins for a first-ball duck, but Hassan Azad and George Rhodes comfortably saw Leicestershire though to lunch without further alarm

    D3: Middlesex 144 & 35-2 v Worcestershire 171

    Kevin Hand
    BBC Radio London commentator

A tight and even morning at Lord's that saw Worcestershire rack up a first innings lead that looked unlikely to say the least at 44-6.

The visitors' lower order threw caution to the wind under cloudy skies and reaped the rewards as the last three more than doubled theirt score.

Middlesex's Mark Stoneman dug in for all his worth but fell without scoring to his 36th ball and Steven Eskinazi was dismissed by a stupendous diving catch by Gareth Roderick at mid-wicket.

It's a seam-friendly surface at Lord's but the hosts will look to bat long and hard having only just knocked off the deficit, and Sam Robson is still there on the back of his highest first-innings score in Middlesex's record knock, at Hove last week.

  16. Lancashire 'well on top'published at 12:45 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

Lancashire were able to capitalise on some very generous Somerset bowling yesterday, the Red Rose were excellent with the bat, hitting 54 boundaries in the 96 overs.

The question this morning was perhaps twofold. Could Lancashire be more threatening with the ball and could the home side improve on their poor performances with the bat in their recent defeats to Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire?

You'll be able to find the answer to both of those questions in the lunchtime score. The Red Rose are well on top, Somerset are fortunate to be just four wickets down.

  17. Glos make 'untroubled' startpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    D2: Glamorgan 309 v Gloucestershire 53-0 - lunch

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Gloucestershire enjoyed the better of the first session as their openers Chris Dent and Miles Hammond made a relatively untroubled start on a grey day in Cardiff, with the 50 coming up off the last ball before lunch.

Dent moved up the order because Ben Charlesworth picked up a side strain when bowling and did not return to the field.

The visitors claimed the final four Glamorgan wickets for 45 in just 11.3 overs, with opening bowlers David Payne and Ryan Higgins claiming two apiece.

Andrew Salter, so stubborn on the first day, was bowled playing no shot for 26 to Payne’s third ball of the day, but new recruit Eddie Byrom steered Glamorgan to a third batting point as he reached 78 before dragging a Payne delivery onto his off stump.

  18. Durham in front at Wantage Roadpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    Northamptonshire 183 v Durham 190-6 - lunch

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle commentator

It's taken 70 overs but Durham are now ahead of Northants on a grey, cool day.

Scott Borthwick was on 73 when he was bowled by Simon Kerrigan with a ball shooting back in low from a foot hole. He had added 93 with Graham Clark for the fifth wicket, rescuing Durham from 49-4.

Clark, playing in his first Championship match of the season, was the leading run-maker in the country in the One-Day Cup and was on 42 when he tried to sweep Kerrigan and was also bowled around his legs.

The players say this is a wicket where the new ball will benefit the bowlers. That new ball will be due just after lunch.

  19. Lunch at Tauntonpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    Somerset 46-4 v Lancashire 373

Very much Lancashire's session, as Somerset's top-order troubles continue.

Azhar Ali remains 22 not out, surviving a multitude of appeals. He's got Lewis Goldsworthy (four not out) for company.

By the way, it's very overcast at Taunton now. Expect the good bowling conditions to continue.

  20. Lunch at the Ageas Bowlpublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    Hampshire 226 v Notts 107-5

A session of two halves at the Ageas Bowl.

Keith Barker took four wickets for eight runs as Hampshire reduced Division One leaders Notts to 39-5 from their overnight 29-1.

Opener Ben Slater, though, batted through to reach 53 not out, sharing an unbroken partnership of 68 with Liam Patterson White (34).

An enthralling afternoon is in store.
