Firm resistance from Azhar Ali and Tom Lammonby. The pair have helped Somerset recover to 25-1.

Change of bowling for Lancashire as George Balderson comes into the attack.

    Hampshire 226 v Notts 55-5

Another maiden for Keith Barker. He's been bowling unchanged for an hour now - how many more can Hampshire squeeze out of him in this spell?

Brad Wheal is set to take over from Mohammad Abbas, but the umpires are concerned about the light and have a quiet word with Hampshire skipper James Vince.

  4. Latest from Divisions Two and Threepublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

Scott Borthwick has been bowled by spinner Simon Kerrigan for 73 and Durham are 142-5 against Northamptonshire - still 41 behind.

Glamorgan's first innings has ended on 309 against Gloucestershire in Cardiff with all-rounder Ryan Higgins having Timm van der Gugten caught behind for figures of 3-90.

Surrey have made a breakthrough at the Kia Oval with Jame Porter falling to Rikki Clarke for 30, but Alastair Cook is 155 not out in Essex's 355-4.

In Division Three, Middlesex are just beginning their second innings after bowling out Worcestershire for 171, with Tim Murtagh taking 5-64.

Sussex are 352-7 against Leicestershire after Chris Wright bowled Henry Crocombe, but Ben Brown is still there on 127 not out.

Derbyshire are 30-3, replying to Kent's 285, with Wayne Madsen recently dismissed by Nathan Gilchrist for 14.

    Yorkshire 108 Warwickshire 155 & 3-0

Warwickshire are really digging in at Headingley.

Just three runs so far from six overs and no real chances of note for the bowling side.

The Bears lead by exactly 50.

    Hampshire 226 v Notts 48-5

Nothing wrong with Liam Patterson-White's timing. He does little more than place his bat down the correct line and ball runs away past mid-off for four.

Bowler Mohammad Abbas is carrying a bit of an ankle injury and he is certainly playing second fiddle to Keith Barker for Hampshire this morning.

    D2: Surrey v Essex 347-3

Alastair Cook chops leg-spinner Cameron Steel down to third man for four and reaches 150 from 301 balls faced.

Nightwatchman Jamie Porter is still with him on 30 and together they have so far added 53 since Dan Lawrence fell to Dan Moriarty last evening.

  8. Postpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 13 September 2021

    Hampshire 226 v Notts 43-5

Notts opener Ben Slater must be finding it hard to believe what he has seen so far this morning - four wickets lost for 14 runs.

They need something big from him and he punches Mohammad Abbas away off the back foot for his first boundary of the day. No risk in that stroke and he is 24 not out.

    Moores lbw Barker 4 (Hampshire 226 v Notts 39-5)

Not quite taking his life in in hands, but Tom Moores throws the bat at a wide one from Keith Barker without much foot movement and middles it well enough to send it speeding to the boundary.

Three balls later, though, and Barker cuts one back off the seam and traps him leg before. It's the 18th five-for of the left-armer's career and this has been quite some spell since the start of play.

    Green b Bailey 0 (Somerset 0-1 v Lancashire 373)

    Well that didn't take long.

It's an absolute beauty from Tom Bailey from the second ball of the innings.

Top of off stump, completely beats Ben Green for pace. Brilliant, brilliant bowling.

A maiden from Keith Barker to Tom Moores. Just two runs scored by Notts this morning for the loss of three wickets. Ben Slater has yet to add to his overnight 18 not out.

Durham have also yet to lose a wicket at Northampton, where they are 116-4, with Scott Borthwick on 62.

Glamorgan have lost Andrew Salter and Ruaidrhi Smith at Cardiif, but Eddie Byrom is unbeaten on 66 and they are 283-8 against Gloucestershire.

In Division Three, Ben Brown is now on 121 for Sussex against Leicestershire, with his side 334-4.

Tim Murtagh has completed yet another five-ffor for Middlesex with the wicket of Charlie Morris at Lord's where Worcestershire are 140-9 - just four behind.

    Ballance b Miles 58 (Yorkshire 108 v Warwickshire 155)

And two early wickets for Warwickshire also ends Yorkshire's innings.

We're in for a fantastic low-scoring affair at Headingley with the Bears leading by 47.

In the context of this game, 47 runs are huge.

It makes Gary Ballance's innings of 58 look very impressive too.

Tom Bailey's brilliant innings comes to an end as Marchant de Lange catches him out with a full one.

Job done this morning from Somerset to get those early wickets. Now, what will they deliver with the bat?

Somerset have made top-order collapses a habit this season. Can they end that run today?

    Top catch!

Four wickets for Jack Brooks as he teases Jack Blatherwick's edge. And it's a super catch at third slip from skipper Tom Abell who leaps brilliantly to his right.

Number 11 Matt Parkinson comes to the crease.

    Somerset v Lancashire 371-8

Marchant de Lange has made it his mission to make number 10 Jack Blatherwick as uncomfortable as possible.

    A short-leg and leg-slip are in close.

Five short balls and then a leg-stump yorker. Blatherwick does very well to survive.

    Wow.

Joe Clarke was off the field for part of day one after injuring a hand while fielding - and he won't be feeling great now either after chipping a catch to mid-on from only the third ball he faced.

Wretched start for the Division One leaders and Hampshire have a bowling point.
