Arjun Singh: I feel very, very sorry for Bracey. But it’s clear this call up came too soon him.
Adam Savoury: Well, that is up there with one of the worst shots I've ever seen first ball from anyone that's played Test match cricket.
Michael: Shocking, absolutely shocking. Zero composure.
Olly Stone survives the hat-trick ball.
I'm not sure I've seen a batter ever look more devastated at getting out than James Bracey did there.
Trent Boult on a hat-trick.
England have fooled us - Mark Wood not in at eight, it's Olly Stone!
Good luck lad. Here we go...

What is that shot? I'm afraid to say. I know it is only his second Test match but it's really wide and swinging and he's done well to get an edge on it.
I feel a bit sorry for him, but surely his mind sees it and asks 'why am I nibbling at that?'

James Bracey hasn't left the crease, he was stumped down, absolutely devastated.

Oh mate. That is brutal.
A duck on debut at Lord's for James Bracey. A duck at Edgbaston.
Trent Boult sends down a teaser, terrific length, wide of off stump, inviting a drive and Bracey nicks it to Daryl Mitchell at third slip.
He could've left it. He should've left it. But England's brains are frazzled here.

That's all very well until it collapses on you.

That must be 30ft long.

That wasn't where I was expecting Dan Lawrence to hit that, but he's flogged it through extra cover.
A rare bad ball by Matt Henry and Dan Lawrence slashes it through the covers for four. It was halfway between a cut and a drive but the ball was so wide, anything on it would've done.

Brace yourself, James.
Out comes James Bracey, playing his second Test.
Mark Wood is in next.

The length was just perfect - it drew him it. He went after it and didn't quite get to the pitch of it.

He's walking off looking very dejected. But I'm givivng full marks to the bowler - he set up him. It was brilliant.
Burns c Latham b Boult 81 (Eng 169-5)
James Anderson might well be bowling today.
It's brilliant bowling by Trent Boult, a classic left-armer dismissal of a left-hander.
He set Rory Burns up with one that straightened and bounced, before one back of a length and then this one he pushed fuller, with devastating swing.
It tempted Burns into the drive and Tom Latham took a very fine low catch to his left in the slips.
An impressive knock by Burns but England really in the mire now.
Burns 81 (184)
Trent Boult strays straight and Rory Burns flicks it away through mid-wicket for a couple to move into the 80s.
Update: my kitten has caught and eaten said fly.
Think she may have a future as a wicketkeeper. Sharp reflexes.
