He looked really promising but to think he'd be playing another 161 games does seem remarkable.

It feels a bit strange in a way, but for Jimmy it is just a phenomenal achievement. For me, I actually couldn't have passed it on to a better player, and I'm actually proud to be second on the list. He is without doubt England's greatest cricketer.
His achievement as an opening bowler is an incredible achievement - I am very proud of him.
Back to James Anderson for the moment - 162 Tests so far, could he make it to 200?
England: Rory Burns, Dom Sibley, Zak Crawley, Joe Root (capt), Ollie Pope, Dan Lawrence, James Bracey (wk), Mark Wood, Olly Stone, Stuart Broad, James Anderson.
New Zealand: Tom Latham (capt), Devon Conway, Will Young, Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls, Tom Blundell (wk), Daryl Mitchell, Neil Wagner, Matt Henry, Ajaz Patel, Trent Boult.
Umpires: Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough; TV umpire: Michael Gough.
Tom Latham on captaining New Zealand in the absence of Kane Williamson: "It's a huge privilege and honour. It's a great opportunity for me and really looking forward to getting stuck in over the next five days."
England captain Joe Root talking to TMS: "It looks like a good wicket. We've got to bat well and negotiate the first hour and session and get off to a good start. I'm looking forward to this week, with the fans, and Jimmy Anderson making history.
"It is difficult to balance the side - we've got to look at ways of doing that when we haven't got the all-rounders. It's an opportunity for guys to stand up and us to look at what it looks like with a slightly different balance and what an exciting attack. We've got two guys who bowl at really high pace and two experienced ones with bags of wickets at the other end, and a young exciting batting line-up. it is a really exciting week ahead."
On Wood and Stone's pace: "It's something i've not really had chance to captain so I am very much looking forward to that this week and seeing how that looks, and seeing how they can create pressure at different times during the game."
Stand-in skipper Tom Latham has just run through all of New Zealand's many changes.
To be honest, I lost track. And it looked like Latham was about to halfway through as well. There are six in total.
Most importantly - and worryingly for England - Trent Boult plays, with a pitch and conditions that suggest there may be a bit of swing about early on.
England may have to battle through a tough period to start.
Joe Root does not follow Michael Vaughan's advice.
Just one change for England - Olly Stone in for Ollie Robinson.
So no spinner once again for the hosts.

I'd have Jack Leach playing today.

Joe Root has done as we expected, but if you're New Zealand and Trent Boult you'd expect the ball to swing today.
England want to bat first and bat big.
Toss and team news imminent...
We also know that, in spite of any other changes, James Anderson definitely will be starting for England today.
No surprise, but it's of massive importance because it means that Anderson goes past his great friend Sir Alastair Cook as the most-capped England player in Test history.
162 Tests.
616 wickets so far.
How many more of each to come?
We know there will be lots of changes for the tourists from the first Test, even before the final 11 is announced.
Captain Kane Williamson is out with an elbow injury and Tom Latham will skipper the side.
And we've just had news that wicketkeeper BJ Watling will miss this match because a back injury, so Tom Blundell will take the gloves.
All-rounder Mitchell Santner is also out with a cut finger.
All will both hope to be back in time to face India in the World Test Championship final at the Ageas Bowl on 18 June.
Especially Watling, who is due to retire after that match.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the second and final Test between England and New Zealand at Edgbaston.
I'm not sure the first Test will or perhaps even should be primarily remembered for the cricket played, given events off the field, including historic racist and sexist tweets by bowler Ollie Robinson that came to light and led to him being suspended pending an investigation.
The England and Wales Cricket Board have also said it will take "relevant and appropriate action" after historical tweets from several England players were "questioned publicly", with captain Joe Root adding his side have faced "ugly truths" as a result.
It has hopefully led and will continue to lead to better education and awareness.
England 0-0 New Zealand.
Winner of this one wins the series.
Will England rue not going for it on that final day at Lord's?
