  3. KENT QUALIFY FOR QUARTER-FINALSpublished at 21:54 British Summer Time 9 July 2021
    Breaking

  4. SUSSEX BEAT ESSEX BY SIX WICKETSpublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 9 July 2021
    Breaking

    Sussex Sharks 148-4 (18.3 overs) v Essex Eagles 146-9 (20 overs)

Sussex batsman Delray Rawlings hits a six straight down the ground to win the game and bring up his half-century off 29 balls.

After the early departure of Luke Wright and a few mid-innings wobbles, an unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership of 81 between Ravi Bopara and Rawlins saw the Sharks home.

Victory moves Sussex up to second in the South Group, and one more win from their final two games should be enough to secure a quarter-final spot.

Essex's hopes of qualification appear slim, as they are three points behind fourth-placed Somerset.

Notts Outlaws beat Yorkshire Vikings by 10 wickets

If Alex Hales wanted to send a message to the England selectors - who have left him out since 2019 because of an off-field incident - he's done exactly that.

That was brutal hitting from the Notts opener, to the extent where you actually felt sorry for one or two of the Yorkshire bowlers.

You'd be brave to bet against the Outlaws retaining their T20 crown.
