There's no change in South group with Gloucestershire still on top after inflicting a first defeat on a Sussex side strengthened by the return to action of England's Ollie Robinson.

Kent remain second, but Surrey move up to third, just two points behind, after Ollie Pope's 52 not out helps them beat London rivals Middlesex.

A happy trip to the coast for Gloucestershire who remain top of the T20 Blast South Group after a brilliant win in Hove.

Glenn Phillips' 94 before the break gave Sussex the tough task of needing 163 for victory and with seven players not able to score more than single figures, they simply didn't have a strong enough response.

  5. KENT BEAT ESSEX BY 28 RUNS (DLS METHOD)published at 21:49 British Summer Time 25 June 2021
    Breaking

    Kent 167-9 v Essex 31-4 (5 overs)

The rain sadly brings this one to an early conclusion but Kent do the double over Essex this season as they win this one by 28 runs on the DLS method.

Essex needed to be on 60 at the end of five overs to win it after losing those four early wickets.

Kent go joint top as it stands in the South Group with those two points.

  6. DERBYSHIRE TIE WITH NOTTSpublished at 21:46 British Summer Time 25 June 2021
    Breaking

    Derbyshire 137-9 v Notts 137-9

It seemed for all the world like Derbyshire would win this match.

The Falcons looked strong at 107-4 and 128-6, at which point they only needed 10 to win from 13 balls.

But an incredible lapse in game management saw Mattie McKiernan, Logan van Beek and Conor McKerr all fail to score in a matter of moments and this one slipped through their fingers in the dying moments.

  7. It's raining (still!)published at 21:40 British Summer Time 25 June 2021

    Weather update from Chelmsford....

    Er, it's still raining!

  8. Derbyshire stuttering at final hurdlepublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 25 June 2021

    Derbyshire 128-7 (17 overs) v Notts 137-9

That was not in the script!

Mattie McKiernan has been caught behind by Tom Moores off Notts' Calvin Harrison off the first ball.

Suddenly Derbyshire have to tread carefully. They need 10 to win from 2.1 overs.

  9. rain stops play

Very heavy rain at Chelmsfordpublished at 21:33 British Summer Time 25 June 2021

    Kent 167-9 v Essex 31-4 (5 overs)

The heaviest rain of the night so far now at Chelmsford.

Doesn't look like they'll be getting back on soon.

If we don't get any more cricket, Kent will take the win as the DLS par score is 59 leaving Essex well short after they lost a flurry of early wickets in their reply.

  10. Derbyshire need 23 to winpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 25 June 2021

    Derbyshire 115-5 (15 overs) v Notts 137-9

Derbyshire might consider themselves unfortunate to lose Brooke Guest as Tom Moores holds onto the catch at the second time of asking.

But the hosts are now 23 away in their victory chase.

  11. Gloucestershire have spring in their steppublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 25 June 2021

    Sussex 70-6 (11 overs) v Gloucestershire 162-5

A reminder that Sussex needed 163 to win at the start of this innings and be it the bowling of David Payne, Benny Howell (pictured above), or Ryan Higgins, they just haven't had an answer.

A disappointing few overs sees Ravi Bopara, David Wiese, Delray Rawlins all go for single figures.

Surrey complete the double over their London neighbours thanks to an unbeaten 52 from Ollie Pope.

They get there with an over to spare but at one stage, they were miles behind the rate after Middlesex's slower bowlers strangled them.

An unbeaten sixth-wicket stand of 61 between Jamie Overton (24 not out) and Pope saw them home by five wickets.

  13. LEICESTERSHIRE BEAT YORKSHIRE BY 34 RUNSpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 25 June 2021
    Breaking

    Leicestershire 203-7 v Yorkshire 173

It's been quite a turnaround by Leicestershire Foxes who have now won three in a row after losing their first five T20 group matches.

Yorkshire's run-chase comes to an end with one ball remaining as Dom Bess is caught off Ben Mike for 24 - the seamer taking 2-9, having only been called on to bowl the final over.

Arron Lilley made 99 not out off 55 balls for the Foxes and also took two catches in the deep - with spinner Callum Parkinson claiming 4-35.

Yoprkshire had won four of their five previous matches - the other was abandoned - and remain well-placed to go on the knockout stage.

  14. NORTHANTS BEAT LANCASHIRE BY 7 WICKETSpublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 25 June 2021
    Breaking

    Northants 131-3 v Lancashire 130-7

Northants make it two wins out of two after failing to win any of their first six games as Mohammad Nabi and Rob Keogh share an unbroken partnership of 54 at Wantage Road.

Nabi makes an unbeaten 27 off 19 balls, and Keogh collects the winning single to reach 25 not out.

Lancashire struggled to get going in their innings after slumping to 23-2 and 61-4 and will be pleased to have paceman Saqib Mahmood back in the team despite slipping to their third defeat.

They next play Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge on Saturday, with Northants away to Yorkshire Vikings.

  15. SOMERSET HAMPSHIRE BY SEVEN RUNSpublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 25 June 2021
    Breaking

    Somerset 172-9 v Hampshire 165-8

Incredible last over from Lewis Gregory wins it for Somerset after they looked gone for all money with three overs to play.

Hampshire needed 11 to win off the last over, but could only score three.

A couple of wickets too see the hosts home by seven runs.

    Derbyshire 75-4 (10 overs) v Notts 137-9

Derbyshire's Luis Reece set the Falcons on their way but misjudged Samit Patel's delivery and departed for 51 after it sneaked through.

It's a breakthrough that Notts were desperately seeking and it has given them some hope.

Since then Harry Came has been caught for 11 and Tom Wood and Leus du Plooy both only managed one.
