Spirit, cruising at 108-3, lost three wickets without scoring and all of a sudden the game turned on its head.

But batter Danielle Gibson did not let the pressure get to her, smashing her first two deliveries for four to help Spirit over over the line with three balls remaining.

Dattani hit 38, Spirit (and England) captain Heather Knight scored a handy 21 and India's Deepti Sharma contributed with 28 runs.

But neither player could turn decent scores into a big one as Phoenix clawed their way back into the game.

In reply, London Spirit were in complete control as opener Naomi Dattani smashed four consecutive boundaries.

I think the pressure of the situation is getting to Birmingham Phoenix here.

    Another dot ball!

    5 needed from 7 balls.

Great work from Kirstie Gordon as she fields off her own bowling and takes off the bails at the non-striker's end. It's not out but, just as important, is a dot ball.

Phoenix have missed a cut off time to bowl their 100 balls by so have been penalised by having to bring a fielder in from the boundary.

That's poor fielding, there was no one at the stumps and that should have been a run out. If Birmingham lose this game they will only have themselves to blame.

  19. Spirit 122-6published at 90 balls left

England's Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone, who will turn out for Birmingham Phoenix men later this evening, are watching on from the dressing room balcony.

Everyone in Edgbaston is hooked to the action.

There's a run out chance as a shy at the stumps from the wicketkeeper misses.

Spirit need 7 from 10 balls.
