We've talked about the pitch a lot and it has been playing quite well, but Tammy Beaumont had so much time to play that pull shot - it does make you wonder if Goswami can't get anything from it on the fist morning, it might be difficult to take wickets.
Short or full, if you bowl a poor delivery to Tammy Beaumont she will punish you.
Goswami is brought back into the attack and a rare loose delivery is drilled by Beaumont through mid-wicket for four.
Blink and you'll miss it.
India’s spin heavy attack may suit Heather Knight’s Test match game. She averages 48.33 against spin in Test cricket compared to 31.42 against pace bowling.
Beaumont 39, Knight 0
Terrific drive from Tammy Beaumont, one which I'm sure is being clipped up for tonight's highlights show.
A high back lift, a couple of short steps down the pitch and an effortless push past a diving mid-off for four. Timed like a Swiss watchmaker.
Another paddle shot from Beaumont brings Knight on strike, who sees off the rest of Rana's over.
Now then, that wicket was slightly against the run of play. Can India build on it?

That was England's highest Test opening partnership against India - Beaumont and Winfield-Hill adding 69.
It was also Lauren Winfield-Hill's joint-highest Test score - she made 35.
Heather Knight, captaining England for the 100th time, is the new batter in.

Lovely catch diving to her right there from Taniya Bhatia. That was the commentator's curse, we were just saying how confident Winfield-Hill was looking. She couldn't quite resist a full, wide ball and has edged wide behind to the keeper.
Heather Knight to the crease now, she's played a lot in Bristol for Western Storm so she will feel comfortable batting here.
Winfield-Hill c Bhatia b Vastrakar 35 (Eng 69-1)
Edged and gone! And it's a brilliant grab from Taniya Bhatia behind the stumps.
Lauren Winfield-Hill was looking assured in the middle but plays at a full and wide delivery from Vastrakar.
Bhatia dives to her right and takes a superb catch.
Breakthrough for the tourists.

There seems to be a mindset from these two along the lines of, let's get through the first hour and then up the pace and put the pressure back on the bowlers. Since drinks there's been much more aggression from both batters.

I wonder if Lauren Winfield-Hill has been checking the weather radar - there's quite a bit of rain around tomorrow...
Beaumont loves the sweep shot (and plays it so well) but has to be a little careful as she misses one from Rana and is struck on the pads. India not interested in the appeal with it clearly going down leg.
The opener paddles down to fine leg for two before advancing down the wicket, showing real intent, for two more.
England scoring much more freely after the drinks break.

Wow! Another mighty blow from Lauren Winfield-Hill - it's a big boundary as well on the leg side. I really like this intent - they're just playing each delivery as it comes and it deserved that treatment. They're showing how to balance the Test match mindset with playing your natural game.
After conceding 11 in her previous over, Pandey is replaced by Vastrakar.
The result? Another six from Winfield-Hill. It's back of a length and the England opener lifts it over deep backward square.
Remember, Winfield-Hill was dropped on three.

I've been really surprised at how slow the outfield seems. We've had a few really nice drives that have just trickled and pulled up short of the boundary. Usually on grounds like this the ball flies past the inner fielders.
Winfield-Hill 29, Beaumont 28
Beaumont sweeps Rana for two and then makes some space and cuts through point for three more.
This is a really good start from England, having weathered some troublesome moments early on.

What an absolute belting shot that is. When I spoke to Lisa Keightley pre-series, she spoke about England wanting to play positively and try and force a result over the four days. A different opposition, of course, but shots like that from Winfield-Hill weren't on show against Australia a few years ago...
