  1. Eng 73-4published at 15 overs

We've been treated to some ridiculously good cover drives in this innings so far and Dunkley smashes a wide ball from Hannah Rowe to the boundary to add to the collection.

If you're looking at England's batting line-up today they do still have Sophia Dunkley and Danni Wyatt to come in, but they've got a big job to do.

  4. Eng 69-4published at 14 overs

The first ODI saw a rare failure for the star of the summer, Sophia Dunkley. She's at the crease now in a very sticky situation which will be a real test of character - of which she has plenty.

Oh, Amy Jones. We see that so many times. She has a bit of a habit of getting caught at mid-wicket trying to flick the ball. It is a soft dismissal.

England's middle order are in a little bit of trouble again.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.4 overs

    Jones c Halliday b Devine 1 (Eng 68-4)

    England's middle order collapses again!

And it's another tame dismissal. Amy Jones cannot believe what she has done, she stares at the ground in disbelief. It's an innocuous delivery from Devine that Jones tries to whip through the leg side - instead, it's catching practice for the fielder at mid-wicket.

This has been a very strange performance from England so far. Everyone has looked good and then just... got out. Beaumont's dismissal, bowled leaving the ball, never looked good, then both Knight and Sciver have fallen to what you could say are pretty loose shots.

England will just want a partnership here. It doesn't matter if the run-rate drops. It is currently 5.6, it doesn't matter if that goes down to 4.5. They just need to regroup.

Cricket is about partnerships. If you lose regular wickets then your partner can't attack. Lauren Winfield-Hill has a really important job to do here.

  9. Eng 68-3published at 13 overs

Amy Jones is the new batter. She gets off the mark from her third ball but what a spell this is from Hannah Rowe - she has two wickets for just three runs so far.

Nat Sciver is searching for runs, you can see that there. She is playing in front of her body.

It is good cricket from New Zealand, looking to get her driving.

That is a soft dismissal. She just hasn't moved her feet enough there. It is a simple catch.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Sciver c Green b Rowe 1 (Eng 67-3)

    England in trouble!

Nat Sciver's difficult time against New Zealand continues. It's a loose drive, she has one run from seven balls and you can sense some frustration. A simple catch for Maddy Green and Hannah Rowe is really clawing her team back into this game.

  13. Eng 67-2published at 12 overs

    Winfield-Hill 26, Sciver 1

Lauren Winfield-Hill eases the pressure as she perfectly times a drive to the cover boundary. Three fielders pursue the ball but it's so well timed they can't get anywhere near.

A reminder that Winfield-Hill hasn't scored an ODI half-century since November 2016 against Sri Lanka.

Nat Sciver is after some runs today. She didn't get many runs in the T20 series or in the first game.

She likes Worcester too. She'll look to knock the ball around, and build an innings.

  15. Eng 61-2published at 11 overs

    Nat Sciver replaces Knight.

She defends solidly, as Rowe gifts a couple of wides from the remainder of the over.

Knight held England's innings together in the last match with 89 while the rest of the middle order collapsed. This will be a good test for England.

That is beautifully bowled by Hannah Rowe. It is a good catch from Katey Martin too.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.1 overs

    Knight c Martin b Rowe 18 (Eng 59-2)

Hannah Rowe comes into the attack and what a start!

It's very full, swings late and Heather Knight can't resist the drive - she edges behind and Katey Martin takes a very good diving catch. Knight looks frustrated.

Lauren Winfield-Hill has played that beautifully. She's got a big smile on her face - she is happy with that one.

  20. Eng 59-1published at 10 overs

I'm not quite sure how to describe this shot from Lauren Winfield-Hill but it's kind of clipped off her hips, kind of pulled, in the air over the leg side and it races to the boundary.

The outfield looks absolutely rapid. A decent powerplay for England, they'll be happy with how they've consolidated after the loss of Beaumont.
