Katherine Brunt is often spoken about in the same bracket as James Anderson in the men's team. There always has to be a comment about their age and what England will do when they finish. Can't we just forget that and enjoy what we have?

  2. NZ 30-2published at 9 overs

    Target 179

Just a single to Maddy Green from Katherine Brunt's latest over. She's got figures of 2-16 from five overs so far today.

Does she ever not deliver? She's done it with bat and ball so far today.

Amy Satterthwaite is such a reassuring presence at the crease for New Zealand. You can imagine her teammates letting out a sigh of relief whenever she's batting.

  4. NZ 29-2published at 8 overs

    Target 179

Decent over for the White Ferns this.

Tash Farrant overpitches and Maddy Green drives to the fence, before they rotate the strike for the remainder of the over.

It may be time for a change at this end. Farrant hasn't looked that potent so far today/

Dave: Katherine Brunt is a bowling machine! Love watching her accuracy and such passion and determination. #barnsleyexpress

Mark Burt: The Oxford English Dictionary’s definition of competitive should be Katherine Brunt. They just don’t make them like her any more. Pure class.

Sam Goose: Is this going to be a big match for the Bruntanator?

  6. NZ 21-2published at 7 overs

    Target 179

Shotttt! Amy Satterthwaite gets off the mark with a boundary. There's some width on offer from Katherine Brunt and the left hander just eases it through the cover fielders.

She now has 1,000 ODI runs against England. Only India's Mithali Raj and Australia's Belinda Clark have managed it until today.

Satterthwaite ends the over with another four, through point. It was a bit uppish and had the fielders interested but it found the gap.

    Down c Beaumont b Brunt 7 (NZ 13-2)

    Gone next ball!

Lauren Down looks to latch onto a little bit of width from Katherine Brunt just ends up slapping it straight down the throat of Tammy Beaumont at backward point.

England have got two early breakthroughs, and will feel like they are on top.

  10. Not outpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 21 September 2021

What a decision from Sue Redfern.

There is a really loud audible noise as the ball passes the bat, but there's no line on UltraEdge at all.

    Lauren Down survives.

Katherine Brunt hasn't appealed, because she's on the floor.

  13. Postpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 21 September 2021

After Heather Knight reviewed Amy Jones said: "I heard a noise."

Sue Redfern replied: "I just heard you scream."

    Hahaha. I love Sue.

Has Lauren Down been caught behind?

    Amy Jones really likes it.

New Zealand are so heavily reliant on Amy Satterthwaite and Sophie Devine, and England know it.

  16. NZ 13-1published at 6 overs

    Target 179

    A maiden for Tash Farrant.

There's no need for New Zealand to panic. The required run-rate is only 3.77.

Having said that, they majorly panicked when faced with a chase of four an over after the rain on Sunday so they won't want it to sneak up much more.

That has made me chuckle out loud.

Katherine Brunt is walking in the manner of someone who's turned up to the supermarket and knows exactly what they want and which aisle it's in. No browsing today thank you, I'm on a mission.

  19. NZ 13-1published at 5 overs

    Target 179

Maddy Green, who averages less than 19 in one-day cricket, is the new batter. The right hander gets off the mark straight away.

New Zealand just need one big or two good partnerships and they'll chase this. Can they do it?

The middle stump looks drunk, leaning on the off stump having been rattled by Katherine Brunt.
