  • Highlights on BBC Red Button at 22:00 BST

  1. NZ 185-5published at 42 overs

The returning Anya Shrubsole bowls far too short and Brooke Halliday swivels on the spot and clubs through square leg for four. It was there to be hit.

Katey Martin then gets in on the fun by swinging her bat in an almost golf-like fashion and dispatching Shrubsole down to long-on. Not middled but powerfully hit.

Shrubsole comes back well with three consecutive dots.

The wickets of Satterthwaite and Devine just fell at completely the wrong times for New Zealand. It means that Katey Martin has to be a bit more reserved now, even though she was starting to get going.

  3. NZ 176-5published at 41 overs

You can just tell Charlie Dean is loving every second of international cricket. She dives down to her right to field off her own bowling and concedes just two runs form the over.

Where do New Zealand go from here? Start looking for the boundaries? With Martin there, they'll still fancy their chances of getting a strong total.

This has been a good test for England, learning how to play when Sophie Ecclestone isn't at her very best. We quite often get used to her taking two or three wickets every game. And Charlie Dean has dealt with it perfectly.

  5. NZ 174-5published at 40 overs

Katey Martin takes a single off Ecclestone, bringing new batter Brooke Halliday on strike.

Ecclestone bowls a yorker and Halliday just about manages to dig it out.

The England spinner raced through that over. Just one from it.

For a moment it looked like Satterthwaite had just clipped it round her legs, but it's a brilliant piece of bowling. What a talent Charlie Dean is.

She barely celebrated! Charlie Dean is finding ways of getting the big names out. England needed that, they were starting to look sloppy.

  8. wicket

    Satterthwaite b Dean 54 (NZ 173-5)

Well, New Zealand are five down now!

It's a terrific delivery from Charlie Dean as Amy Satterthwaite is bowled round her legs. It looked as if it was going to be a leg-side wide, turns back and clatters into the stumps. Brilliant.

She always fields at extra cover. It's her position and she'll back herself to take that, even with one hand.

Heather Knight is so frustrated. She knows that was a genuine chance.

  11. dropped catch

Martin dropped on 42published at 38.2 overs

Does this go down as another England drop? I think it does!

Katey Martin advances down the wicket and slaps the ball to extra cover. Heather Knight puts a hand out but can't hold on. It wasn't hit overly hard. Some better positioning from the England captain and New Zealand would have been five down.

A welcome return to form for Katey Martin, whose previous three innings were scores of 9, 6 and 2. This is also her highest score since making 72 against Australia in 2017.

  13. NZ 166-4published at 38 overs

    Martin 40, Satterthwaite 50

Katey Martin is not far off catching up her partner. She frees her arms and heaves Sophie Ecclestone over mid-wicket for four.

To me, Amy Satterthwaite is the best batter in the world at this position. She just keeps the innings together, always so calm and collected.

  15. 50 runs

50 for Satterthwaitepublished at 37.2 overs

She's rode her luck at times, but Amy Satterthwaite is rewarded for a patient innings when her team needed her as she brings up her half-century.

    A composed innings.

England are a tired team. For the first time, they've had a summer absolutely jam-packed with cricket matches. From the domestic stuff into the India series, then the intensity of The Hundred and straight into this. There will be some tired heads and bodies in that team.

  18. NZ 159-4published at 37 overs

If you're looking for a bowler to dry up the runs, Nat Sciver is your woman.

Just a single apiece to Satterthwaite and Martin.

Usually at around 35 overs, you look to double your score from there. But New Zealand are four down, so most of this innings is riding on Satterthwaite and Martin.

They'll be aiming for around 230 and anything above that is a bonus.
