Joe Root doesn't look convinced but he has gone for the review. It looked like it was drifting down leg.
Leach prompts a strong lbw shout against Bonner.
Umpire says no, Root sends it upstairs.

Little change after tea as Kemar Roach is content to leave Ben Stokes outside off stump and centurion Nkrumah Bonner is in no rush to get back on strike now.
Mark Wood is unfit to bowl for for those of you just joining us. He's off the field with an elbow issue.

This Test is a game of patience and clearly Nkrumah Bonner has it in spades as this hundred shows. He was badly missed by Zak Crawley on 73 but this has been a great example of discipline and batting for this West Indies team.
A well-deserved hundred for a very patient Nkrumah Bonner.
He sweeps Jack Leach for four to move to 102 off 257 balls.
Bonner had just one Test ton before today -113* off 274 balls in a drawn match on this very ground v Sri Lanka this month last year.

Was this a calculated effort by West Indies to have that stickability to wear England down? Not having Mark Wood or a seasoned Test spinner is going to make it very difficult for England.
West Indies could even bat England out of the game from here.

Nkrumah Bonner has gone along really steadily, shown great temperament, and just worn the England bowlers out. He has unquestionably been the glue for West Indies in this innings.
Games in England are played at fast-forward pace, dismissals happening quickly, wickets falling. This is a very different type of cricket. Much more attritional.

Thanks Matt.
I wonder what Nkrumah Eljego Bonner is having for his tea (if anything?) sat on 98* over the break.
Any suggestions or great tales of club cricketers' chosen consumption when stuck near a milestone over an awkwardly timed tea interval? (Though sadly most leagues tends to take the interval between innings these days).
Play to resume at 19:00 GMT.
Carlos makes a good point at the end there.
Anyway here's Harry Everett to take you through the next period.

I think a lead of 50 is what the West Indies are looking at and anything else is a bonus. What a job Nkrumah Bonner has done.
It's not been the most riveting watch for England fans but in terms of a red ball reset they also will need to get back to appreciating this type of cricket. It's not always swashbuckling with a lots of shots.

Pressure now firmly on England’s second innings. It hasn’t been pretty in the least, thanks to a pitch that is not doing anyone any favours. But you have to admire the determination of West Indies. Take out Bairstow’s 140 and West Indies have dominated the game.
England have a habit of making lower-order batters look like world beaters.

Ross McDonald: If Kemar Roach was English he’d be a shoe-in to open the batting.

The umpires don't need any invitation to head to the pavilion. That is tea.
There were only 51 runs in 30 overs in that session. Still, West Indies are in the lead.

At this rate the whole England cricket team will be considered as the world's most likable people. Are they even trying to show some bowling aggression? They don't have to be this nice

Joe Root bowls some more flitch, allowing Nkrumah Bonner to help himself to four more. He's just a hit away from a century now.

This is an incredibly patient effort from Nkrumah Bonner, with a painstaking effort from Kemar Roach to help guide the West Indies to a lead.
