Cheers, Harry. If this shower doesn't pass, none of us will see Bonner bowl today.

So then... England are 148 runs ahead. They have nine wickets in hand. Two of their men have scored centuries in this Test with another nearing his ton. This doesn't feel right.

Well I feel well and truly robbed. I had been looking forward to Nkrumah Bonner bowling all day.

As a result I am going to throw my toys out the pram, kick off and leave this text commentary.

Here is Kal Sajad to take over.

Bonner starts with an attempted tribute to the late great Shane Warne, it has the line - albeit not the flight, guile, grip nor turn of Warne's ball of the century.

He bowls one ball then the covers come on!

That disruption is cricket's latest, worst robbery.

Bonner, Bonner, Bonner! Windies' centurion is coming on...

Yes Mr Brathwaite, thanks for accepting my request as if you are the jukebox man at the dodgy local in my Huddersfield University days.

This is what we want to see.

There are 46K of you still with us, great stuff! Anyone wanna tell me the rugby score?

I wonder if Bairstow is watching it in the sheds?

Jason Holder would be a useful second row surely...Imagine him and Devin Toner together!

Someone is going to get a "pea roller" on middle stump in a minute, the odd one is keeping low.

Reckon that's the best chance of one of these two getting out anytime soon, both look comfortable and cosey.

Otherwise they need a bit of part-time filth....

  8. Eng 207-1published at 62 overs

Da Silva misses one that stays low, harsh jeers from the Barmy Army at a keeping mistake.

Not a lot the gloveman could do about that - it stayed really low off a Seales short-ish ball.

Crawley then tickles one really fine down the legside for four to add insult to injury - a very tough chance that too.

Rob Meech: Fabulous innings by Zak Crawley. He oozes talent and has the potential to be a cornerstone of England’s top order for years to come. As with all young players he is inconsistent and is having to learn on the job. But he looks to be on the right path.

    Nkrumah Bonner bowls part-time leggies...

How long until he gets the ball?

Only 19 overs now until the next new ball, this is usually when the batter's get a go.

(Although Root likes to keep his surprise package Dan Lawrence back a bit longer than that.)

It was Sir Viv Richards' 70th birthday (despite the great man looking about half that) shortly before this Test.

Local radio had tributes to him throughout the day - people reading poems to him, reminiscing about his great innings...

He even called in himself at one point. The poor caller who followed was lost for words - "how can I follow on from the Master Blaster?"

This bust of Sir Viv is outside the house where he grew up, on (what is now called) Sir Vivian Richards Street. His brother still lives there, and is a regular at matches in Antigua.

    Crawley 108*

Crawley's Ashes best was 77 in Sydney, he got a few starts, but has generally been found out by top level seam and swing.

On this pitch he has got away without fully committing his head to every ball with the lack of deviation.

It take some patience from a shot-playing lad to face 180+ balls still though.

Marcus Trescothick gives a nod of approval from the stands.

Cricketnut: Well batted Zak Crawley, let's hope this is the knock that allows him to kick on and consistently show the undoubted talent he has!

So...might I have two English centurions to type about soon..?

Surely the pitch is too flat to allow the curse of the text-commentator?

    Root is on 73*.

    14 fours, 181 balls, 262 minutes.

It's not been easy for Zak Crawley despite the placid pitch.

He has dug in well and will be glad to not only be remembered as a one-innings-wonder in Tests for England.

Though my was that 267 wonderful.

It’s been a very well paced innings and a reminder of what a very promising batsman he is. He does naturally like to play his strokes but this surface doesn’t allow that, which makes his patience all the more creditable.
