A bit of a surprise declaration - West Indies will need around four an over. That reflects the lack of scoring opportunities on this pitch.

West Indies need to save first - bat themselves into a comfortable position. But then if they need about 60 off the final 10 overs, go for it.

  3. Declaration - West Indies need 286 to winpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

Joe Root waves from the balcony and that's it! England have declared on 349-6, setting West Indies 286 to win from 70 overs.

England's bowlers will have a quick dash at West Indies' openers for 10 tricky minutes before lunch.

Not to make you feel any worse Mike, but it's even sunny in Wales today. I'd still prefer the Caribbean, though.

Mike Bell: No football here either. On a mini break, following from St Ives Harbour in Cornwall. Torrential rain and 60 mph winds. Why on earth people go to the Caribbean in winter is beyond me.

A good decision from the umpire as replays show it clipped Woakes' shoulder.

However, he played that ball horribly, taking his eye off it and getting into a right tangle. I suspect we'll be seeing a few more of those.

Well. Jason Holder and his team mates are convinced that Chris Woakes has gloved a short ball to the keeper. In fact, Holder is so convinced that he barely celebrates.

But Woakes is unmoved, as is the umpire. Upstairs we go.

That is dedication, Adrian. Anyone else out there following from a football match?

England are in danger of making a monumental mess of this. There's still 76 overs of play remaining - they're going to have to be careful.

It’s creditable to be having a go to set up a declaration but playing shots on this pitch is next to impossible.

With so many overs remaining England have to go back into defensive mode. Mind you, to be bowled out might give them a chance of winning…
