  1. Eng 238-2published at 69.2 overs

Here we go! Dan Lawrence charges down the pitch to Jason Holder and lofts him elegantly over extra cover for the first boundary of the day.

He follows it with some 'good cricket', as they say, with a dab-and-run single to get Root back on strike.

James Gulleford: I like to think England will try to win the match but they have form with being negative. The New Zealand match last summer comes to mind! Wouldn’t surprise me if Root doesn’t try to win!

Joe Root is in his typical one-day mode now - scampering singles and hitting into the gaps for twos.

    He moves into the nineties...

There are 98 overs to be bowled today. Play started at the earlier time of 13:30 GMT (09:30 local). Lunch will be at 16:00, tea at 18:40, with the final session starting at 19:00 until the overs are bowled, bad light stops play, or players decide to shake hands on a draw...

Dan Lawrence is the new batter for England and he gets himself off the mark straight away, nudging one down to fine leg.

I wonder if we'll get to see him bowl again later. I hope so.

A terrific yorker from the towering Holder has splattered Crawley's stumps.

    Crawley b Holder 121 (Eng 225-2)

Breakthrough for the West Indies! A wonderful innings comes to an end thanks to a perfect Jason Holder yorker.

Crawley looked like he was going into one-day mode earlier in the over, but Holder has the same idea, the ball sneaking underneath Crawley's bat and dismantling the stumps.

The camera finds Ben Stokes on the balcony, not in whites. It then finds Jonny Bairstow, also not in whites. Interesting.

A single from the final ball of Kemar Roach's over brings up the 200 partnership between Root and Crawley, from 347 balls. Not a bad effort, that.

I'm not sure we will see England bat all day. Joe Root would love a Test match win - he hasn't had one in a while. He's got to give himself a chance, right?

England should just focus on batting out the day. Put another 90 overs into the Windies bowlers' legs just four days ahead of the next test whilst giving our lads a chance to put their feet up for the day. Also chance for several batters to play themselves in.

A poor review. Missing the stumps and umpire's call on impact.

    As you were.

Now then! The first hint of aggression as Zak Crawley comes down the pitch and tries to whip Jason Holder through the leg side.

He's struck on the pad, it's given not out but they take it upstairs.

A tidy over from Kemar Roach concedes just a single.

When will we see England hit the accelerator? Yes, I know we're only two overs in. But it would be fun.

If you go out there and play risk-free cricket, it's very hard for anyone to get you out.

There are positives to take for England. Yesterday was a crucial day for them - it was a fighting effort, particularly from Crawley with a point to prove. He played calmy and patiently - it was a terrific innings.

  15. Eng 219-1published at 64 overs

Nkrumah Bonner's over was interrupted by rain last night so he starts halfway through - and with a no-ball.

Crawley nudges one down the ground for a single and England are underway.

I think Joe Root will look for the England team to be very aggressive. Given they have batters with such power and a range of shots, they could well go at five or six per over.

So it seems the pitch is what's going to dictate proceedings today.

And with Mark Wood suffering with his elbow, it's hard to see England risking him too much. Without his pace, that could make it very difficult for them to take 10 wickets later in the day.

Anyway, for now, it's Zak Crawley and Joe Root in the middle. Here goes day five.

This could be heading towards one of the least memorable matches of the century because of the pitch that has stifled everything. But there's still a possibility of something going horribly wrong...

How would you like to see England approach this morning? Send Ben Stokes in next if they lose a wicket? Unleash Jonny Bairstow in one-day mode?

At the end of day four, centurion Zak Crawley said England will need the pitch to break up a little more to be able to force a result - but they will certainly be trying to get the win. You can read his post-match thoughts here.
