  1. WI 35-1published at 10.0 overs

Nice lines from Jack Leach who, you may recall, churned out nine maidens on the bounce in the first Test in Antigua.

He clocks up six dots here as Kraigg Brathwaite takes no chances against the Somerset left-arm tweaker.

Matt Fisher poised to replace Chris Woakes at the Malcolm Marshall End.

  2. WI 35-1published at 9.0 overs

Chris Woakes' string of dot balls is broken by Kraig Braithwaite as he clips one off his pads for a single.

Later in the over Shamarh Brooks squirts one off the edge of his bat from Woakes for four through point.

I thought Matthew Fisher was the bloke who played the Hammond organ on "A Whiter Shade of Pale". Or am I just showing my age?

  4. WI 28-1published at 8.0 overs

Ben Foakes excitable after Jack Leach gets one to turn and bounce.

Apart from that one he dragged down which Shamarh Brooks pounced on that's a good start by the England left-arm spinner.

Jack Leach will be licking his lips having seen how the pitch is starting to take some turn.

  6. WI 28-1published at 7.3 overs

Jack Leach, collar up and quizzical look on his face, drops one a little short and wide and Shamarh Brooks capitalises by cutting him for four.

Next ball Brooks attempts a sweep shot and misses it by a country mile. England appeal but that one probably turned too much.

Joe Root decides against a review which was the right call.

    Carlos Brathwaite
West Indies all-rounder on BT Sport

Veerasammy Permaul is not a big spinner of the ball and we saw some turn. West Indies will not be wanting to face Jack Leach after such a long time in the field.

Here comes Jack Leach as Joe Root turns to spin after seven overs.

  9. WI 24-1published at 7.0 overs

A beautiful seam position presented by Chris Woakes and he clips the edge of a Kraigg Brathwaite defensive prod.

The ball hits the bat fairly low down, though, so there's not quite enough carry on it to the three slips and a gully in the England cordon.

    Another maiden for Woakes.

  10. WI 24-1published at 6.0 overs

I'd agree, Kevin. More than a hint of Steven Finn about Matthew Fisher. He's had his problems with injuries too.

Three singles off that over for the West Indies before Fisher, ice-white sweatbands on both arms, finishes with a delivery which gets a bit nip off the seam which Shamarh Brooks leaves well alone.

  11. WI 21-1published at 5.0 overs

Some nip off the pitch from Chris Woakes, who is bowling in some nice areas, but this West Indies pair seem content to leave the ball well.

Shamarh Brooks in particular knows exactly where his off stump is as he shoulders arms a few times.

    Consecutive maidens for Woakes.

Kevin Ticehurst: Matthew Fisher is reminding me of Steven Finn here.

  13. WI 21-1published at 4.0 overs

Matt Fisher is consistently up in mid eighties pace wise. That's mph.

He bounces Shamarh Brooks but the ball flies well over the West Indies batter and the acrobatic dive from Ben Foakes and runs away for four byes.

He's trying to settle into a rhythm now after the thrill of his first Test wicket.

It's always nice to see a new young fast bowler. Fisher's not got rapid pace, but already we've seen his outswinger, inswinger and bouncer.

  15. WI 14-1published at 3.0 overs

Yes, a reminder that Matt Fisher is only playing here because Craig Overton went down ill on the morning of the start of match.

Chris Woakes dangles the carrot outside Kraigg Brathwaite's off stump but the West Indies skipper does not take the bait.

"Three down tonight lads" is the chat from the gruff tones of Jonny Bairstow as Woakes finishes off a maiden.

Matt Fisher's family are here watching - he texted them on the morning of the first day to say that he was starting - they'd been expecting to watch him carry drinks this match.

  17. WI 14-1published at 2.0 overs

Pats and back slaps all around from his England team-mates for Matt Fisher as he puts his cap back on, grinning from ear to ear.

    What a feeling.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1.2 overs

    Campbell c Foakes b Fisher 4 (WI 14-1)

A wicket with your second ball on debut. That'll do!

Matt Fisher sprints away, arms outstretched, in celebration.

A scrambled seam back of a length and John Campbell gets an inside edge of the bottom of his bat and Ben Foakes gobbles up the catch.

    Well done Matt.
