This has been the smallest crowd of the match so far. I think a combination of the rain and the state of the game has led people to think about spending time on the beach rather than at the ground.

  2. WI 360-6published at 157 overs

Ultimately it's another wicketless over for Jack Leach. He has 1-111 from 63 overs.

  3. Not outpublished at 17:54 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2022

Da Silva has missed the ball by a long way - a second noise created by bat hitting pad.

A wicket here could kickstart the game and get it moving again.

  5. Postpublished at 17:53 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2022

    This looks a poor review...

  6. England reviewpublished at 17:52 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2022

England reckon Joshua da Silva has been caught at leg slip.

    Da Silva doesn't look worried.

This has been a wonderful example of concentration in this chanceless, stubborn innings. Focussed, perhaps, because he's captain - he's grafted away to keep the game safe. It's not a thing of great beauty, but sometimes you just need something that's effective.

150 for Brathwaitepublished at 156.1 overs

    On he goes.

Kraigg Brathwaite has been half man half limpet at times today but from his 458th ball he scores his 150th run.

  9. WI 359-6published at 156 overs

I'll be very surprised it Joshua da Silva doesn't get out lbw to Saqib Mahmood in this spell.

  10. WI 357-6published at 155 overs

    Brathwaite 148, Da Silva 3

I thought Jack Leach had made a step forward during the first Test with a good, confidence-boosting performance. So far this effort has been far more underwhelming. He bowls to short and Kraigg Brathwaite is able to plonk the ball through a gap for a single.

Joe Root has a long word with Leach at the end of the over, patting him on the back as they walk.

Saqib Mahmood has this ball swinging a little and Joshua da Silva is bravely, or stupidly, playing across his front pad. Considering a wicket felt as far away as Cuba earlier in the day another could be just a street or two away now.

  12. Not outpublished at 17:39 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2022

I don't think Da Silva thought he hit that. He took a long time to review.

A sickener for England and Saqib Mahmood.

    Oh! There's a spike...

  14. West Indies reviewpublished at 17:38 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2022

Saqib Mahmood has another! Joshua da Silva is given lbw.

West Indies review but this looked so out.

Very good point, Olly. We're getting somewhere.

Jack Leach wheels through his 61st over of the innings. I don't think my shoulder would take half of that.

I'm going Sir Alastair Cook because he was chief ball shiner due to him being the least sweaty player in the Ashes victory in Australia in 2010/11. Being stuck in a lift with a prolific sweater would be terrible!

An inside edge saves Da Silva from a first baller. Good bowling from the seamer who will be feeling a lot better about his debut now.

I'm still not sure what Holder was trying to do.

Lancashire's Mahmood and Yorkshire's Fisher shared a big hug after that wicket. It was a really tough catch.

Joshua da Silva is the new batter.

    WICKETpublished at 151.2 overs

    Holder c Fisher b Mahmood 12 (WI 351-6)

A wicket! Would you believe it?! It's Saqib Mahmood's first in Test cricket.

For some reason Jason Holder has had a rush of blood and tried to whack the second ball after lunch for six. He gets a top-edge on a pull and Matthew Fisher takes a tough catch that was swirling in the wind.

  20. WI 351-5published at 151 overs

Saqib Mahmood is going to open proceedings. Will this session be better than the first? It can hardly be worse...
