This has been a struggle. England are almost through the West Indies, though. Leach must be getting tired now - he's bowled 68 overs.

But the need for England is to get this wrapped up quickly. They don't want to let the West Indies back into the game in any way.

Permaul's finger is good enough to allow him to continue. He sees off the final two deliveries to take us to tea.

Chris Woakes has got a ball to bounce and hit Veerasammy Permaul on the glove. The physio is coming on. It's the spinner's bowling hand which could - probably won't - be significant.

I just found a picture of Jack Leach with hair and I must admit it has unsettled me. It seems there will be one more over before tea.

Nicky... Please let me know next time you're planning a trip. I want to book it off work. It's a maiden of solid defence to Woakes from Da Silva.

I've travelled three times now to the Caribbean for a Test match. I've seen Lara's 400, a Holder double hundred (2019) and now this knock from Braithwaite, I think I might be a cursed traveller.

    Da Silva 24, Permaul 1

Jack Leach beats the edge of Permaul's bat - or at least the umpire thinks he has. Ben Foakes reckons Permaul has got a tickle on it. England are out of reviews, remember.

Veerasammy Permaul batted for more than two hours for 26 runs in the first innings of the first Test so don't get your hopes up of seeing Alex Lees bat just yet.

The standard of umpiring this series means that nearly every lbw call is getting reviewed. But England now have a great chance with 33 overs left today and the full 90 tomorrow. Plenty of opportunity to thrash a lead and play some shots on this pitch, before putting the West Indies in.

It's only clipping but that's enough for Chris Woakes! Kemar Roach is on his way.

It has hit the flap of Roach's pad but not a lot has gone over the stumps in this match...

    Chris Woakes has a wicket!

    Or does he?

Kemar Roach reviews the lbw decision.

Joshua da Silva looks far more comfortable now than when Saqib Mahmood was targeting his pads in a dangerous four-over period earlier. Leach drops too short - again - and the West Indies wicketkeeper cuts for four.

    Da Silva 20, Roach 1

Brathwaite has already got changed, grabbed a well-earned bottle of water and taken a seat on the West Indies balcony. Chris Woakes' place must be really coming into doubt for the third Test.

Chris Woakes is coming on for his fourth over of the day which says a lot about his performance.

So slow is the pitch that new man Kemar Roach can just lurch forward and smother Jack Leach's spin. There's some sort of event with booming music going on outside our office window. It's quite the contrast to the Barbados snooze fest.

That is the most balls faced by a West Indies batsman in an innings since Brian Lara's 400*. In that time, Chris Gayle has scored two triple hundreds...

  19. WI 387-7published at 170 overs

Kemar Roach can hang around. He is the new batter.

There are still 37 overs left today so still time for England to build a decent lead, if they can get these wickets quickly.

The door is now open slightly for England. As we've been saying - that's the area Leach has to bowl. Pitched on middle and leg, took the top of off. 401 dot balls from Brathwaite... that's some effort.
