  1. WI 48-3published at 17 overs

    Target 282

For all of the excitement, Kraigg Brathwaite is still there and is looking relatively comfortable. Mahmood has bowled five good overs on the spin. This could be his last.

Just as I write that Brathwaite skews Mahmood in the air. Give him another, Joe.

  2. WI 43-3published at 16 overs

    Minimum 49 overs remaining

"Come on lads. Big effort," says Ben Foakes. There are some troublesome-looking clouds out to sea which is not in the script but I think we'll be OK.

Mahmood is 'in a spell', as they say, so is going to keep going.

Saqib Mahmood has bowled outstandingly. Last night he said how invigorated he was by the prospect of bowling England to victory today and he's stayed true to those words. He has bowled with vigour and venom outside the off stump.

  5. drinks break

    WI 41-3published at 15 overs

    Minimum 50 overs remaining

On the TV they're showing a pitch map to highlight how good a length Saqib Mahmood is bowling. It's probing stuff, most of it in that red, 'good' area. There's a bit of a stare from Mahmood as Blackwood plays one on the bounce into the gully.

    Time for a quick drink.

  7. WI 41-3published at 14 overs

    Target 282

Kraigg Brathwaite defends to Leach as Ben Foakes groans and Dan Lawrence puts his hands on his head. It's all part of the final day theatre.

  8. WI 39-3published at 13 overs

    Minimum 52 overs remaining

Jermaine Blackwood defends a little jerkily. I must be honest I didn't think England had any hope on this pitch.

  10. WI 39-3published at 12.3 overs

Right then. It's now Jermaine Blackwood who joins Kraigg Brathwaite in the middle. These two both scored centuries in the first innings. Their 183-run partnership lasted more overs than what we have remaining today.

    The game?

    Bonner c Root b Mahmood 3 (WI 39-3)

Game well and truly on! Saqib Mahmood has removed Nkrumah Bonner with a beauty that just moves away, take the edge and is gobbled up at slip. England are running away celebrating. They believe.

  12. WI 39-2published at 12 overs

    Brathwaite 21, Bonner 3

Who are you and what are you doing in Kraigg Brathwaite's shirt? The West Indies opener steps down the pitch and cracks Jack Leach in the air back past the stumps. There are yelps of "catch" but it's actually a lovely, if unexpected, shot from the West Indies captain.

  14. WI 33-2published at 11 overs

    Target 282

There's an explosion of dirt as ball lands on pitch in this over from Saqib Mahmood. It moved a long way too but from too wide to trouble Nkrumah Bonner. When the ball is hard there is just enough there for the bowlers.

Worrying moment for England and Stokes there, but I think he just winded himself in trying to field.

  16. WI 29-2published at 10 overs

    Minimum 55 overs remaining

Sound the Ben Stokes is wincing emergency klaxon. I think he's going to be OK, having got in a tangle when diving at mid-off.

Brathwaite has played this over from Jack Leach solidly.

  17. WI 23-2published at 9.2 overs

Antigua centurion Nkrumah Bonner is in now. This is a massive partnership for West Indies.

Joe Root is surrounding the batters.

WICKETpublished at 18:00 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2022

    Brooks c Root b Mahmood 4 (WI 23-2)

    Gone! They couldn't, could they?

Shamarh Brooks edges to second slip but that's only half the story. Zak Crawley is the fielder and, given he's stood really close, does really well to get a hand on the ball. As it goes over his shoulder he parries it again before Joe Root swoops in to help out and claim the relay catch.

Joe Root has tossed the ball to Saqib Mahmood.

  20. WI 20-1published at 8 overs

    Target 282

Oh this is good from Jack Leach. A bit of turn finds the edge of Shamarh Brooks' bat but there's no time for Dan Lawrence to react. Lawrence is on his knees with the helmet on at a second slip position.
